Willow Creek Road report

portation lists its planned
construction activities on Willow
Creek Road for the week of
Monday, Aug. 10:
Tidewater will be continuing
working on the cut slope
excavation and placing rock
embankment with materials from
the cut slope, working between
the beginning of the project and
the end of the project at Ditch
Creek They have finished the
installation of the culverts at
Smith Ditch and the unnamed
tributary There is an emergency
access roadway across these
culverts at this time; however.
Tidewater will continue to work
on the fill of the roadway to get it
to grade aerss the pipes.
Willow Creek Road (Coal
Mine Grade) is closed to through
traffic from Cutsforth Park to the
intersection of Forest Service
roads 5320 and 53. This inter
section will remain open, to the
logging contractor only, for the
removal of timber sale material.
The FS 21 Road, Penland Lake
Road, intersection will remain
open
during
consliuction
activities and will be controlled
with flaggers.
Willow Creek Road remains
open, to local traffic only, to
Cutsforth Park. The park will
remain open through
the
construction season.
The placement of the dust
abatement went very well and
has been completed. Tidewater
appreciates
the
public's
cooperation m allowing them to
get it done without any problems.
The Willow Creek road closure
will continue through Oct. 9,
1998. The detour route through
the Shaw Creek Road will
continue to be the mam travel
route through to the four comers
to Penland Lake and Ukiah.
Additional temporary signs have
been placed for Penland Lake
access.
Please watch for logging truck
traffic and observe the warning
signs, including the speed limit.
