Open Class is getting Some neat
gifts this year for judge's choice.
The gifts range from a quilting
book to useful stuff for the
kitchen and garden.
The fair open class is open to all
ages, not just the young or the
old.
Everyone is encouraged to look
through a premium book to see
what you can bring out to the
fair. You never know, you might
bring home a new gift from the
1998 fair.
So get to baking, canning,
gardening, sewing, painting and
doing crafts.
Record game animals on display
Hunters will have a once-in-
a-lifetim»’ opportunity to see
some of the Northwest's biggest
game animals at a display during
the Morrow County Fair, August
20-23, across from the Heppner
City Park.
The display will feature 20
world record animals. Hunters
may also bring in their homs,
heads or antlers to be measured
for the record books.
Admission is $3 for adults;
children up to 15 years old will
be admitted free.
Show hours are as follows:
August 20, 3-8 p.m.; August 21-
22, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; August 23,
10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Computer art

Department X, Superkids and
Juniors, ages seven to 13 have
added some computer art and a

in their entries.

A fair could not be run without
the
volunteer
help
of
superintendents.
Superintendents have been
planning this year's fair since the
close of last year's fair.
Superintendents set up the
display area before the fair, take
in exhibits, are on hand to help
the judge, place ribbons on
entries and enter everything in
the books so exhibitors will get
their premium money.
All this gets very confusing at
times, but they try their best to
greet everyone with a smile and
to answer questions.
This year you will see familiar
and new faces working as
superintendents. The fair board
appreciates their effort. The fair
couldn’t go on without them.
Star Lab cancelled
Because of a lack of space at
the fairgrounds this year. Star
Lab will not be a feature at the
Morrow County Fair this year,
according to the fair committee.
