Sunday callers at the Bob
Taylor home were Wayne and
Norma Fresch of Rose Villa, CA.
Bob and Norma are cousins and
she was researching the geneal
ogy of the Taylor family. This was
the first time the two had met.
Word was heard recently of
the death of Sally Laway, mother
o f Dorothy Edwards and Gladys
Van Winkle. She was 95 years of
age. The funeral was held in John
Day. B esides Dorothy and
Gladys, she is survived by 10 other
children.

Rollie Marshall hired at CMG

announced the hiring of Rollie
Marshall of Heppner to head up
the company's rural lending unit.
"Marshall's 20 years of banking
experience, including 10 years in
agricultural lending, provides the
background we were seeking,"
said Rickman. "Marshall will be
responsible for agricultural
lending and will also be involved
in residential and commercial
lending."

release from the Genesis Edge.

to make these loans and

Local MS walk brings in $5,970
The Oregon Chapter for the
National Multiple Sclerosis Soci
ety reported a final pledge amount
of $5,970 for Heppner at the MS
Walk in April.

St. Patrick's Senior Center
Bulletin Board
Around 70 people were present for the senior meal July 8.
Members of the Christian Life Center served. Bingo was played at
1 p.m. Blood pressures were taken before the meal. There was no
Senior Board meeting as not enough members were present.
The menu for July 22 will be chicken enchiladas, green beans.
Jello with carrots and pineapple and cookies. Members of the First
Christian Church wili serve. This menu was postponed from the
July 15 because food donations from the Agape House needed to be
used.
Twenty-eight people were present for the Friday breakfast July 10.
The menu for Friday July 17 will be waffles, bacon, hot or cold
cereal, fruit, orange juice, milk and coffee.
Ten passengers and driver Ed Baker went by senior bus to
Monument for lunch(at the Senior Center Tuesday, July 7. They had
trouble getting home as the bus kept vapor-locking. Ed planned to
get it fixed later in the week so it will be ready for the trip to
Condon Thursday, July 23. Departure time is 10:30 a.m. Signup
sheet is in the office, or call 676-9030 to have your name put on the
list.
One table of cards was played Tuesday afternoon, and two on
Friday.
Tenant Jack Erwin moved out Friday. He will spend time this
summer on a canoe trip down the Missouri River. We all wish him
a safe trip. Sounds like great fun.
