MSWCDAVeed Board
finalized weed policy
The Morrow Soil and Water
Conservation
District/Weed
Advisory Board and Morrow
County Court have finalized a
weed control policy.
The recently signed policy
specifies how compliance with
the provisions of Morrow County
Weed Ordinance MC-C-3-90
will be accomplished.
The policy outlines a
cooperation between an operator
and the Morrow County Weed
District to develop a weed
management plan for areas
identified as having 'A' list
noxious weeds and how to
eradicate or control these weeds.
An important aspect of this
policy is that any operator who
has completed and is applying
the accepted weed management
plan will be treated as being in
compliance with the ordinance.
"Neglect, refusal or failure to
follow the established plan,
however, will be treated as a
violation of the ordinance and
enforcement action may be taken
accordingly," according to a
MSWCD/Weed Advisory Board
news release.
The plan starts with a one page
work sheet identifying the
noxious weeds on a location map
and includes long and short term
goals. Short-term goals o f the
WMP include details for
chemical and mechanical control
needed to prohibit noxious weeds
from going to seed. Long-term
