Churches schedule Easter services
An Easter egg hunt will be held
Lexington Baptist
Lexington Baptist Cnurch is
planning a morning of special
events to celebrate Easter.
Members are encouraged to
attend the Community Easter
Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. at the
Heppner Fairgrounds, then come
to the church in Lexington for an
Easter breakfast. The breakfast
will be served from 8:45 - 9:15
a.m.
Sunday school classes will
follow from 9:45-10:45 a.m..
The children will focus on the
resurrection o f Christ in their
classes. Then at 11 a.m., the
Easter Sunday service will begin.
Pastor
Glenn
Anderson's
message is entitled "Explain
Away". Special music will
feature Matt Jepsen on the
trumpet, a vocal solo by Sandra
Van Liew and Laura McElligott
at the piano.
Lexington Baptist Church is
located at 160 East B Street in
Lexington.
Everyone is welcome to attend.

William's Parishes
The Holy week schedule for
St. Patrick's and St. William's
parishes this week is as follows::
For St. Patrick's: Holy
Thursday, April 9, the Evening
Mass of the Lord's Supper will
be held at 7 p.m.; on Good
Friday, April 10, the Stations of
the Cross will be at 12:05 p.m.
and Solemn Commemoration of
the Lord's Death at 7 p.m.; on
Holy Saturday, April 11, the
Easter Vigil will begin at 5 p.m.;
on Easter Sunday, April 12,
Easter Mass will be held at 11
a.m.
For St. William's, on Good
Friday Stations of the Cross will
be at 5:30 p.m.; on Easter Sunday
Easter Mass will be held at 8:45
a.m.
Heppner First Christian
Church
A special Resurrection Sunday
Service will be held at the First
Christian Church in Heppner on
Easter Sunday, April
12,
beginning at 10 a.m. with a
coffee and donut fellowship. The
worship service will follow at
10:30 a.m. and will feature
several specials sung by local
people.
in the children's church and the
children will learn about the
resurrection story.
The adult message, presented
by the minister Andrew Johnson,
is entitled, "Worthy is the
Lamb".
Following the message the
children's choir will sing a
special.
Everyone is invited to attend.
Child care will be provided.
BM C C classes
postponed
Computer classes originally
scheduled for lone High School
have been postponed until
Monday, April 20.
The classes, Introduction to
Computers II and Computer
Help have been rescheduled.
Any interested students should
call BMCC Morrow County
coordinator, Anne Morter, at
422-7040
for
registration
information.
Intro to Computers II is a four-
week class designed to increase
the students' comfort level with a
computer while building skills in
basic programs such as Word,
Excel and on the Internet. Cost
is $25 tuition plus $7.50 lab fee
payable to BMCC.
Computer Help meets from 7-9
p.m. also on Monday nights for
four weeks. This class offers an
opportunity to practice the
computer skills you already have
and receive help on specific
programs or questions. Cost is
$25 tuition plus $7.50 lab fee.
Tuition for ages 60 and over is
reduced to $10.
Those with questions or
computer class ideas are invited
to call Morter.

Obituary
Patricia Gail Meacham, 63, of
Boardman, died Friday, Apnl 3,
1998, at her home.
Private family services will be
held. Disposition was by crema­
tion.
Patricia Gail Curtis was bom
December 16, 1934, at Las Ve­
gas, Nevada, to Gail and Media
Jensen Curtis. She was raised in
Utah and on November 5, 1951,
she married Rulon Meacham in
the Temple at Logan, Utah. They
moved to Boardman in the early
1980s and she was employed at
Lamb Weston for 15 years until
her health no longer allowed her
to work.
She enjoyed gardening, yard
work and her friends.
Mrs. Meacham was a member
of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints.
Her husband, Rulon, died in
1996. Survivors include her par­
ents, Gail and Media Curtis of St.
George, Utah; sons, Jim, Ron and
John, all of Boardman; daughter,
Cindy Meacham of Boardman;
brothers, Jerry Curtis of Dallas,
Texas, and Steve Curtis o f St.
G eorge, U tah; sisters, Kay
Simpson of Las Vegas, Nevada,
Marcene Moutray, Deanna Pugh
and Debbie Hammer, all of St.
George, Utah; two granddaugh­
ters and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial contributions may
be made to Vange John Memo­
rial H ospice, P.O. Box 306,
Hermiston, OR 97838.
Bums Mortuary of Hermiston
was in charge o f arrangements.
