A1 Frye o f Weaver Construction and Brent Reynolds o f ODOT
continue to provide updated information during the Monday Main
Street meetings which are open to everyone.
Westside - Curbs should be nearly complete as o f presstime with the
asphalt paving beginning Monday, August 4. Vehicles will likely be
driving down the new street by August 8. Driveways should be poured
this week. It is crucial to stay off o f them for seven days. The
electrical and sprinkler systems will be going in the utility strips this
week. Pavers will not be laid in the utility strips until both sides are
completed.
Eastside - Paul Arbogast will be contacting the businesses to make
sure they understand their waterline responsibilities and to prepare
them. The street will start coming out around August 7 or 8.
Sidewalks will be tom up beginning at Schwab and May Street.
Business owners on the eastside are encouraged to attend the Monday
meetings for clarification o f issues in question.
Shamrock - A1 Frye tells us the shamrock in the middle of Mam
and Willow intersection will be done all at once, rather than in halves
as previously planned.
Sidewalks - It takes extensive foot traffic to wear the white coating
o ff the sidewalk. By wintertime we should see the permanent grey
color.
Planters - Heppner Chamber o f Commerce has donated the majority
o f the flower planters to the Morrow County Fairgrounds. Weaver
Construction has volunteered to deliver them. If there are any
businesses who would like to have them on a side street or at their
backdoor on a permanent basis, please let the Chamber know now so
arrangements can be made, (676-5536).
Events - watch the Heppner Gazette for 'Hard Hat Specials" flyers
and look forward to some heavy duty equipment dexterity skills
