Swimming lessons will be
offered at the lone pool from
Tuesday, July 29 through Friday,
August 8.
Lessons will be taught by
Brandi Orem. The cost will be
$15 per class.
All levels will be offered
depending on interest. Levels one
and two will last one-half hour
and levels three through seven
will be 45 minutes. Space is
limited, so people are advised not
to wait until the last minute to
sign up. Call 422-7583 and leave
a message to register.
Levels six and seven will start
at 8:30 a.m. and will focus on
building strength and increasing
distance. A variety of safety and
rescue techniques are included.
Levels four and five will begin
at 9:30 a.m. and will focus on
stroke refinement and deep
water. Becoming familiar with
water safety is especially
important at this stage, said a
spokesperson.
Level three will begin at 10:30
a.m. The front and back crawl
will be the main focus.
Level two lessons will begin
at 11:30 a.m. Swimmers will
float on their front and back on
their own.
Level one begins at 12 p.m.
This level is for swimmers who
are not familiar with the water. It
gives children a chance to get in
and explore, and feel safe in the
pool.
"Safety is taught in all levels,
because it is an important part of
swimming,"
said
the
spokesperson. Classes are based
on American Red Cross courses.
If all requirements are reached,
students
will receive
an
American Red Cross card for that
level.
Everyone is welcome to sign
up for the lessons.
