Academic
Awards
Assembly
for
Heppner
Elementary School was held
Thursday, June 5. Students were
honored
for
academic
achievement in the classroom
and for participation in special
programs and contests.
Cara Kennedy, whose poster
placed second in the State Elks
Eye Poster Contest was presented
a certificate by Jay Straley, past
exhaulted ruler of Heppner
BPOE. Also recognized were
Faye
Seitz,
Heppner
Elementary's head cook, who
will retire at the end of the school
year and fifth-sixth grade teacher
Dave Gunderson, who is making
a career change.
Refreshments following the
awards were organized by
Parents' Club members.
