Janet Greenup, Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District manager, Merilee McDowell, Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District office manager, and Bob Krein, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife district biologist, accepting on behalf of himself and his staff, Russ Morgan, assistant wildlife biologist, received plaques. Over 140 people performed and over 300 attended "Mother Goose Madness", a play sponsored by the Morrow County Arts Council and funded by the Morrow County Unified Recreation District. The play, "the initial county wide theatrical venture with a cast of hundreds aged five to 70", was presented Monday, May 12, at St. Patrick Church in Heppner. "It turned out really well," said assistant director Joyce Graff. "It was a county wide effort, definitely." Director was Shelly Rietmann. The play was written by Rietmann and Janet Scoubes.
