ASSE, International Student Exchange Programs (ASSE) is now taking applications from families to host young people for the 1997-1998 school year in the lone, Heppner and Lexington area. There are still a few students from the Newly Independent States of the former Soviet Union who will be available this month. Students are also available from Scandinavia, Europe, Mexico, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and Canada. Students are sponsored by ASSE, a non-profit, public benefit organization. They are 15-18 years old, academically sound, t bright, curious and anxious to learn about our country by living in a family and attending an American high school (attendance is mandatory), said an ASSE news release.
