A living history display featuring
vintage costumes worn by local
junior high and high school
students will be held at the
Morrow County Museum in
Heppner following the St Patrick's
parade Saturday approximately
between 2-3 p m
Morrow County Museum
Director Marsha Sweek says this
is the first time something of this
kind has been held at the museum
She says that she hopes to have
living history scenes in each
historical room at the museum and
in the nearby school house.
Rami Sheddon and Karen
Morgan assisted in the display,
"with a lot of cooperation with the
junior high and high school."

On the run all day Saturday,
trying not to miss any of the
events? Sunday is an opportunity
to relax, first with a great
breakfast sponsored by the
Willow Creek Golfers, followed
by the church of your choice.
Then drive down to see the
Sheep Dog Trials at the Thomp
Folk quartet to perform Saturday
son Ranch.
Fifty sheep dog handlers have
entered a total of 80 dogs for the
two-day event, held March 15-
16. Competitors will be coming
from seven states and as far away
as Wyoming, Alaska and south
ern California, and will be vying
for prizes in three classes.
Chairperson Mary Hamilton said,
"One spectator is coming from
Vancouver just so her daughter
can watch because she saw the
movie, 'Babe'." (As far as this
writer knows, there are no pigs at
these dog trials.)
Spectators may wish to watch
a bit of roping, but be sure to
plan for the auction, the lamb
barbecue and entertainment by
the "Outhouse Singers," all
located at the fair pavilion.
Scheduling gives everyone the
chance to get an up-close pre
view of the auction items, while
enjoying music by former
Heppnerites Ron and Joe Mc
Donald.
Tantalizing lamb by chef
Harrison may be eaten prior to,
during or after the auction, with
inside tables provided.
"Auction chairperson Doris
Brosnan and committee have put
in long hours," said Chamber
manager Claudia Hughes. "Now
the success depends on bidders.
It is the auction that funds on
going St. Paddy celebrations and
the barbecue that provides south
Morrow County scholarship
funds. Both make a great finale
to the busy weekend."
