Site Council meets
The Heppner Elementary Site
Council held its January meeting
on Monday Jan 6
HES Principal Bill Karwacki
showed the committee drawings of
the new play ground equipment for
the lower grade field This new
apparatus is expected to be
delivered by the end of February
There is a need for volunteers to
help assemble the equipment so
the cost of labor could be held to a
minimum There was also some
discussion on doing some
improvements on the fifth and 6th
grade playground A poll of some
sort was mentioned to get an idea
of what the children who use this
area might like to see done there
It was also brought to the
council’s attention that parents
might not be aware of what
booster shots are required and
when these need to be given. A
volunteer agreed to contact the
Morrow
County
Health
Department and set up some kind
of a schedule or letters to be sent
home with students to let parents
know when these are required
Karwacki also distributed a
parent-school
communication
survey among the parents of the
site council. This survey will be
discussed at the advisory
committee meeting.
The next meeting will be held on
Monday, February 3, at 6:30 p m
in the Heppner Elementary staff
room The meeting is open to the
public, and anyone with concerns
is invited to attend.
