Computer class planned at HHS
A Blue Mountain Community
College (BMCC) computer class
covering Microsoft Excel has been
scheduled for Saturday, March 8,
at Heppner High School. The all­
day seminar will run from 8 a.m.-
5 p.m. Cost is $50 per person.
The class will focus on begin­
ning spreadsheet operations and
will cover data entry, formatting,
charting, importing graphics, print­
ing, exporting data and macros. No
prior computer experience is nec­
essary.

States as an evangelist, as a
pastor, in church youth camps and
family camp meetings, at
banquets, in a series of revival
crusades, one-night concerts, and
in v arious types of church retreats
The evangelist serv ed for a time as
executive director of Northwest
Teen Challenge, a drug and
alcohol abuse prevention program
In association with that program,
he spoke in public junior high and
senior high school assemblies and
classrooms against the use of
drugs and alcohol
The Womacks, are recording
artists In most serv ices they sing
three or four gospel songs, from
Southern Gospel to contemporary
to a country style
In addition to their present
traveling ministry , the Womacks
have pastored in churches m
Idaho, Missouri, and Washington.
The Rev Womack attended
Northwest College of the
Assemblies of God in Kirkland,
Washington, and Central Missouri
State University' in Warrensburg,

St. Patrick’s Church Altar Soci­
ety sponsored a card party Sunday
afternoon, Jan. 19. Bunco, pinochle
and bridge was played and a pie
dessert was served.
Winners for bridge were Hazel
Mahoney, high; Beth Bryant, sec­
ond high; and Gwen Healy, travel­
ing.
Pinochle winners were Daisy
Collins and Dorthy Wilson, who
were both high and also tied for
the traveling pinochle.
Bunco winners were Father
Gerry Condon, first; Janet
Greenup, second; and Diana Ball,
bunco.

There were 74 people present for the Senior dinner Jan 22 and four
meals were home delivered. Sara Horn of Hermiston won the meal
ticket. Members of the Catholic Church served Volunteers who
were left off the list last week were Paul Werner, who helps clear and
wash the tables, and Tom Gonty, who delivers the meals to people
who are not able to come to the center Their help is much
appreciated

potatoes, green beans, rolls, cookies, applesauce, coffee, tea and milk

Four seniors played pinochle in the office Friday afternoon It was
warmer there than in the sitting room. It w as very cold in the dining
room Wed. morning, but with several small heaters going it started to
warm up a little Roger Schoonover came and got the heat pump
going so it was comfortable by lunch time Hopefully it will keep
working until warm weather arrives

Obituary
J. Ewing Hynd
J. Ewing Hynd, 82, of Her­
miston, died Monday, January 27,
1997 at the Good Samaritan Cen­
ter in Hermiston.
Funeral service will be held on
Thursday, January 30, 1997 at the
Bums Mortuary Chapel in Her­
miston at 1 p.m. Private burial will
be in the Ukiah Cemetery, Ukiah.
Mr. Hynd was bom on Apnl 10,
1914 in Ukiah, to parents Charley
and Elizabeth Wigham Hynd. He
was raised and attended school in
Ukiah.
He was united in marriage to
Beaulah A. Eskelson on May 19,
1937 in Heppner.
Mr. Hynd was a prominent cattle
rancher in Umatilla and Morrow
counties. He was a past president
of the Umatilla County Cattlemen’s
Association and was the Umatilla
County Cattleman of 1956. He en­
joyed hunting and fishing and was
an active member of the Water­
melon Good Samaritan Chapter.
The Hynds lived in Hermiston since
1976.
Mr. Hynd is survived by his wife
of 59 years, Beaulah “Bee” Hynd,
Hermiston; son, John Hynd, Ukiah,
three granddaughters and seven
great-grandchildren. He was pre­
ceded in death by his parents and
one sister, Lilias Cheney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial con­
tributions may be made to the Uma­
tilla Senior Center, care of Bums
Mortuary of Hermiston, P.O. Box
289, Hermiston, OR 97838.
Bums Mortuary of Hermiston is
in charge of arrangements.
This is a public meeting where
