After wrapping up this year's
fair season, board members
and fair committee people are
at work to prepare for the 1997
season. Budget preparations
have been completed which
will be submitted for approval
by the Morrow County Budget

"Boots, Jeans and Cowboy
Dreams," which was submit
ted by the Fair Committee. This
logo should provide ample
decorating ideas for the fair,
rodeo and parade, which will
be held Aug. 13-17, 1997, said
a fair spokesperson. Morrow

Recently com pleted fair
ground improvements include
enlarging the 4-H office inside

ty Peck's antique farm machi
nery collection is relocated to
the proposed museum building
at the west end of Heppner.
Tentative road improvements
are planned to provide better
access from the highway to the
rodeo field area at the west end
of the fairgrounds.
A subcommittee has studied
the feasibility of erecting a live
stock exhibit building on the
grounds. A proposal to build a
100x140' op en -sid ed pole
building will be presented at
public hearing^ in the near
future to gain input from the
public.
To implement fair activities,
the fair superintendents meet
on the first Monday of each
month at 10 a.m. to update
departmental changes. The
craft department has two new
volunteer superintendents,
Bobbi Angel and Ruby Munk-
ers. Other persons interested in
helping with fair activities may
