Topics to be discussed in clude community recreational opportunities, conversion of the old swimming pool facility and community development training opportunities offered by Rural Development Initia tives, Inc. The council is completing the update of the Heppner Fact Book. Anyone having a fact book three-ring binder should turn it in to the Heppner City Hall. The pubic is welcome to at tend all meetings of the HCC. Six people have signed up for the guitar lessons offered by guitarist Carl Oakes, starting Sunday, Sept. 29. However, says organizer Marlene Currin, Oakes will not be able to come unless at least 10 people have signed up for the class. She is urging interested people to sign up as soon as possible. Currin says that the Morrow County Unified Recreation District (MCURD) has been asked to underwrite the cost of the lessons. She will speak at 11:30 a.m. O 'D onnell, whose works have appeared in national pub lications, is the author of five books about Oregon history. He will speak on "A Sense of Place in Oregon" immediately after Auel. Officials representing Oregon and Washington tourism will also speak at the inaugural celebration of the new tour route.
