H CC to meet Sign up for
The Heppner Coordinating
Council (HCC) will hold its
next meeting on Tuesday, Sept.
guitar lessons
24, at 7:30 a.m. in the con
ference room of the Heppner
Ranger District office.
Topics to be discussed in
clude community recreational
opportunities, conversion of
the old swimming pool facility
and community development
training opportunities offered
by Rural Development Initia
tives, Inc.
The council is completing the
update of the Heppner Fact
Book. Anyone having a fact
book three-ring binder should
turn it in to the Heppner City
Hall.
The pubic is welcome to at
tend all meetings of the HCC.
Six people have signed up for
the guitar lessons offered by
guitarist Carl Oakes, starting
Sunday, Sept. 29. However,
says organizer Marlene Currin,
Oakes will not be able to come
unless at least 10 people have
signed up for the class. She is
urging interested people to sign
up as soon as possible.
Currin says that the Morrow
County Unified Recreation
District (MCURD) has been
asked to underwrite the cost of
the lessons. MCURD will meet
Thursday, Sept. 26 to consider
the request, among other
issues.
For more information on the
classes or to sign up, call Cur
rin, 676-9711.
