Your Les Schwab Tire Center is proud to support the
hope that our customers and
everyone who is a fan of the
western paperback will take ad
vantage of this opportunity to
visit with Mr. Trump and to
share stories with this story
teller."
“ We want this to be the first
of many visits by Oregon
writers," Brosnan continued.
“ We will hope to host writers
in the future during special
events in the area and maybe
to celebrate special dates in the
world of literature."
Gary Trump is a fourth-gen
eration Oregonian, who was
raised on a small ranch in
northeast Oregon. His occupa
tions have been varied, pro
viding a experience from which
to draw his stories. As a teen
ager, he worked for ranchers
and had his own small herd of
cattle. From high school, he
entered the U.S. Army and
served a tour in Vietnam. He
returned and worked as a
welder, journeyman meatcut-
ter, police officer, forestry ser
vice worker, Little League
coach, high school business
teacher and high school base
ball coach.
Trump is currently writing
the "Uncle Bud" books which
include “ I Remember When,
Sweet Memories, Lookin'
Back" and the recently releas
ed "Reflections." In the books,
Uncle Bud owns a small cafe on
the outskirts of what used to be
a small town, now a large city.

and state an opinion or tell a tall
tale. “ Written with humor and

The office also has two new

These two tapes discuss live
stock ethics in junior livestock

watch," added Broderick. “ All
4-H & FFA members, leaders
and parents need to watch
these tapes." They may also be
