Sheriffs Report
The Morrow County Sheriff's
office in Heppner reports
dispatching the following
business during the past week:
July 8: Morrow County
Sheriff's office dispatched the
Boardman ambulance to a
residence at Three Mile Canyon
Rd. for a female with an
unknown illness. Patient was
transported to Good Shepherd
Community Hospital in Herm-
iston;
Morrow County deputy ar­
rested Steven Dean Woods, 21,
Boardman for Burglary I and
Theft I. He was cited and
released to appear in court;
Morrow County deputy took
a report of a runaway juvenile
in the Irrigon area;
Morrow County deputy took
a trespass report in lone;
Morrow County deputy took
a report of an animal problem
at Kunze Road in Boardman;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the Wagon Wheel
Addition, Irrigon for a driving
complaint;
Morrow County deputy took
a report of theft of lawn equip­
ment in Irrigon;
Morrow County deputy
delivered an emergency mes­
sage to someone at Cutsforth
Park;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the Boardman BP
statio for a report of theft.
July 9: Morrow County depu­
ty responded to the Irrigon area
for a report of a domestic pro­
blem in progress at the River-
view Trailer Park.
Morrow County deputy
responded to the Willow Creek
Dam area for a report of
damage done to the grass;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the lone fire
dept, for a grass fire near
McNab Elevator;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched Heppner and
Arlington fire departments for
mutual aid for a grass fire in
lone;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Arlington
fire dept, for a report of an
alarm sounding at Oregon
Waste management in Arling­
ton.
July 10: Morrow County
deputy responded to a motor
vehicle accident on 1-84, mile
post 208 westbound. No in­
juries or damage reported;
Morrow County deputy took
a report of a phone problem in
lone;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Boardman
ambulance to a residence on
Willow Fork for a person with
an allergic reaction. The patient
was transported to Good
Shepherd Community Hospital
in Hermiston;
Morrow County deputy took
a report of a traffic problem on
Cain Drive in Irrigon;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Boardman
ambulance to the Boardman BP
station for a report of a person
having a heart attack. The pa­
tient was transported to Good
Shepherd Community Hospital
in Hermiston;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Condon
ambulance to Spring St for a
male diabetic. No transport was
made;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice received a report from a
citizen of a hit and run at the
Boardman rest area, east-
bound, 1-84, mile post 161.
July 11: Morrow County
deputy responded to Bakes
Restaurant and Lounge in Ir­
rigon for a report of criminal
m ischief. Investigation is
continuing;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Boardman
fire dept, to 1-84, mile post 164
westbound to check a truck that
was reportedly leaking diesel;
Morrow County deputy
responded to a burglary in the
Irrigon area;
Morrow County deputy
responded to investigate a theft
in the Irrigon area;
Morrow County deputy
responded to Bakes in Irrigon
for a report of an intoxicated
driver. The deputy was unable
to locate anyone;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Heppner
ambulance and Heppner fire
dept, to a one vehicle rollover
on Western Rt. road. Two peo­
ple were transported by am­
bulance to Pioneer Memorial
Hospital and three were
transported to Pioneer Mem­
orial Hospital by private
vehicle;
Morrow County deputy
responded to Western Route
Rd to investigate a one vehi­
cle rollover. The investigation
is continuing.
July 12: Morrow County
Sheriff's office responded to
Patterson Ferry Rd. Morrow
County Grain Growers for a
report of burglary. The in­
vestigation is continuing;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice responded to the Lexington
area for a neighborhood
disturbance;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Arlington
fire dept, to a report of a grass
fire on 1-84, mile post 130, west­
bound. The fire was out upon
arrival;
Morrow County deputy
assisted a disabled motorist on
1-84;
Morrow County deputy
received a report of a grass fire
at mile post 174 on 1-84. The
deputy was unable to locate the
fire;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Boardman
ambulance to a residence on
Pioneer Lane in Boardman for
a female with an unknown il­
lness. Patient was transported
to Good Shepherd Communi­
ty Hospital in Hermiston;
Mo'rrow County deputy
responded to assist the Board-
man Police department with a
report of a domestic problem
on Anderson road in Board-
man;
Morrow County deputy
responded to assist the Board-
man Police department with a
reported domestic at the Out­
back Apartments in Boardman.
July 13: Morrow County
deputy responded to assist the
Irrigon ambulance with a pa­
tient who had overdosed in Ir­
rigon. No action was taken;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the 1-84 area five
miles west of Boardman for a
report of a driver going the
wrong way. The deputy was
unable to locate anyone;
Morrow County deputy
responded to assist the Board-
man Police dept, with a report
of an alarm at Boardman Phar­
macy;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Arlington
Fire dept, to a field fire at the
Phillipi Ranch;
Morrow County deputy
responded to Bakes in Irrigon,
for an unfounded call;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the Lexington
lone area for a suspicious vehi­
cle. Deputy was unable to
locate anything.
July 14: Morrow County
deputy responded to the
Boardman area to assist the
Boardman Police dept, with a
domestic dispute;
Morrow County deputy
responded to a residence in
lone for an intrusion alarm;
Morrow County deputy
responded to a residence in Ir­
rigon for an intrusion alarm;
Morrow County deputy
began an investigation of a
vehicle stolen from the Proud-
foot ranch in lone;
Morrow County deputy had
a traffic hazard towed from the
Baseline area;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Arlington
Fire dept, to a grass fire at the
Murtha Ranch on Hay Canyon
Road.
July 15: Morrow County
deputy assisted the Boardman
Police dept, with a family
disturbance in Boardman;
Morrow County deputy ar­
rested Gregory Neil Moore, 30,
for three outside warrants. He
was lodged at Franklin Coun­
ty Jail;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice began an investigation of a
theft from a vehicle on Tower
Road, Boardman;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Arlington
ambulance to the Arlington
clinic to transport a patient to
Good Shepherd Community
Hospital in Hermiston;
Morrow County deputy ar­
rested Lawrence Allen Perrin,
20, Irrigon, for Burglary I. He
was released on his own
recognizance because of lack
of jail space;
Morrow County deputy
responded to Slaughter Rd and
Division in Irrigon, for an
animal problem;
Morrow County deputy
responded to 1st. St. in Irrigon,
for a report of an assault. Maria
Cispin, 50, Irrigon, was ar­
rested for Assault IV and
ordered to appear in court;
Morrow County deputy
received a report of property
found behind a business in
Irrigon.
July 16: Morrow County
deputy responded to Paul
Smith and Kunze roads for a
report of a domestic dispute in
progress. The incident was
resolved;
Reading program
underway at lone
A summer reading program
for children, "Reading Around
the World", began at the lone
Libruary July 9 and will con­
tinue through Aug. 13. All
children are welcome to join
the program of reading,
storytelling, arts and crafts and
snacks, Tuesdays from 9-11
a.m. at the library.
Carri Grieb, an elementary
teacher, has designed this
year's program to include
stories from different countries
and cultures. Twenty-four new
children's books from the
Americas, Africa, Asia and
Europe were added to the
library for the program.
The summer reading pro­
gram is an annual project of the
lone Topic Club, which sup­
ports the library. This year's
program was enhanced by a
grant from the Morrow Coun­
ty Commission on Children
and Families.

Allstott family
plans reunion
Descendants of Johann
Caspar Altstadt (1673-1742)
through his eldest son, Johann
Martin Altstatt (1699-1769) have
planned a reunion at the Mor­
row County Fairgrounds in
Heppner Saturday, July 20
beginning at 10 a.m. A potluck
dinner will get underway at
noon.
Johann Martin Allstatt, his
wife and son came to the
U.S.A. from Freinsheim, Ger­
many arriving in Philadelphia
Aug. 17, 1729.
Sixth-generation descendant,
John Wesley Allstott, came to
Morrow County sometime after
1850. He died in 1907 and is
buried in Heppner.
Among his children who liv­
ed in this area were Robert E.
Allstott and R. Dell Allstott.
Ninth and 10th generation
families still make their homes
here.
All friends and family are in­
vited to attend.
Softball Tournament held at
Redmond Saturday, July 6,
through Thursday, July 11.
The girls' team, the Colum­
bia Seniors, finished third in
the tournament. They lost their
first game to Bend, then beat
Hood River, Redmond and
Crook County before losing to
Bend again on July 10.
Hermiston ended up winn­
ing the tournament.
