Loren Woodside has hunted
a lot of bear in his life, but none
quite as big as the Grizzly he
shot in British Columbia last
year.
"It was the biggest bear I've
ever seen,'' Woodside recalls as
he tells how he bagged the 800
lb animal.

Your first wings were made of plywood—
They wouldn't fly a lick.
Your first ball was made of rubber,
Your first bat an old oak stick.
Your first weapon was. a slingshot,
Your first prey were Grandma's hens,
Your first hero was brave "Fongy",
Your imaginary friend.
And then your teen years came,
And you were mesmerized by sports.
Hunting, fishing and the thrill
You found on B-Ball courts.
Great adventures, big and small,
Some good and others tense—
Like driving Dad's new pick-up truck
Right through a barbed-wire fence.
Until there came The Right One,
And you caught your breath and said
"I do," -- and in an instant—
You're all grown up and wed.
But time rolls on and time rolls on,
It simply won't stay put.
And now it seems the shoe, my friend,
Is on the other foot.
Your daughter wrecks your car
And tries her Mom's clothes on for size.
Your son looks toward the airport,
Speculation in his eyes.
In the gym when youngsters yell
"Hey, Coach!" it's you they call.
And it's the biggest elk there is
You try for every fall.
Your airplane runs on jet fuel
As it cruises through the sky.
And your lovely wife is married
TO A FORTY-YEAR-OLD GUY! I I l II !
