Conservation District (SWCD)
will hold its annual free tree
give-away at the Pettyjohn
Building parking lot on Friday,
May 17, from 8 a.m.-noon. An
assortment of ponderosa pine,
Douglas-fir and a limited supp­
ly of Englemann spruce will be
dispersed on a first-come, first-
served basis.
Morrow SWCD organizes the
dispersal of these excess trees
each year in cooperation with
the USDA Forest Service.
"Trees provide shade, wind­
breaks and wildlife habitat as

criminal conspiracy to commit
burglary II, criminal conspiracy
to commit aggravated theft and
two counts of conspiracy to
commit unauthorized use of a
motor vehicle. The conviction
stems from a burglary of the

tober 20, 1995. McClatchy was
ordered to serve eight months
in the Oregon State Pentiten-
tiary, pay $32,861 in restitution
and submit to evaluation and
residential treatment for drug
abuse on release from the
penitentiary. McClatchy was
also convicted of escaping from
the district court and ordered to
serve an eight m onths'
sentence to run concurrently;
Andrew E. Burt, 17, Hepp­
ner, previously remanded to
adult court, was convicted of
criminal trespass I and ordered
to serve 30 days in the county
jail in two 15-day increments;
May 2: Tyson Lynn Doolin,
19, and Aaron Alexander
Anello, 17, both from the
Kelso-Longview, WA, area,
were convicted in adult court of
armed robbery and kidnapping

and Anello as a juvenile under
Oregon's new Ballot Measure
II, which allows for prosecu­
tion of juveniles in adult court
for certain crimes, including

kidnapping.

Thomas picked up Doolin,
Anello and two girls, Michele
Rae Kell and Laura Ann Leduc,

Kelso-longview area. Dooling
pulled a pistol which he held to
the victim's head, took $200
and Thomas' pickup. They
dumped Thomas off two miles
south of 1-84 on highway 74.
The two girls were convicted
of conspiracy to commit the
unauthorized use of motor
vehicle. They were not charg­
ed with the other crimes
because they were locked in the
back of the pickup during the
incident. Sentencing has ten­
tatively been set for June 20 or
w hen the pre-sentence in­
vestigation is completed.
Janet B. Griffin, Irrigon, was
charged with contempt of court
for failure to pay child support.
After a hearing Griffin was
ordered to serve 30 days in the
county jail.
James Howard Stark, 30, Ir­
rigon,
charged
with
unauthorized use of a motor
vehicle and unlawful posses­
sion of a firearm, failed to ap­
pear for a jury trial May 2. A
bench warrant was issued for
