Community Center and the
Hardman Cemetery will be
held this Sunday, May 5,
beginning at 9 a.m.
A potluck will be held at
noon.
Those attending the work
day are asked to bring tools,
such as weedeaters and riding
lawnmowers.
Those who are not at the
cemetery will be at the center
doing housecleaning chores.
The children of George and
Anna Mae Steagall of Heppner
invite their friends and relatives
to a potluck dinner in honor of
their 50th wedding anniver­
sary, Saturday, May 11, from
1-5 p.m. at the Spray Grange
Kindergarten visitation date set
Heppner Elementary School
kindergarten visitation has
been planned for Friday, May
10, from 8 a.m .-12 noon.
Children must be five years
old by Sept. 1 to be enrolled in

The Morrow County Gun
Club will be open for trap­
shooting at noon on Sunday,
May 5. Sixteen yard and han­
dicaps will be shot, along with
"A nnie Oakleys" and "golf"
shoots.
These shoots are open to the
general public and everyone is
welcome to participate.
Two activates are planned for
the month of June. Sunday,
June 2, will be a warm-up shoot
for the "beef" shoot schedul­
ed for Saturday, June 15.
Little League has
cleats exchange
The local Little League is
sponsoring a cleats exchange.
Anyone who has cleats he or
she doesn't want should call

state vice president, and Fritz,

eligible to attend the National
Safety Prevention Conference
being held in Hawaii this July.

Bulletin Board
Ninety people were present for the birthday meal on April 24.
Nine meals were home delivered. Dean Gilman received the
birthday gift certificate and Sylvia McDaniel, the free meal ticket.
Members of the Christian Life Center served. Twenty-eight
seniors had their blood pressures taken before the dinner.
The menu for May 8 will be chicken ala king, tossed salad,
biscuit, fruit and cake. Members of the Seventh-day Adventist
and Nazarene churches will serve. A senior center board meeting
will follow the meal.
Ten seniors and bus driver Ed Baker drove to Spray on Thurs­
day, April 25, where they enjoyed lunch at the Spray meal site.
The next bus trip will be to the Monument meal site on Tues­
day, May 14. A few seats on the bus are still available. Anyone
wishing to go may sign up at the senior center office.
On Saturday, May 4, the Heppner Garden Club will have a
plant exchange in the center dining room from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Tim Cundell will again provide music for listening and danc­
ing on Saturday, May 11, at 6 p.m. Those attending are asked
to bring finger foods for refreshments and come join the fun.
One table of pinochle was in play Friday afternoon. Eight
seniors watched the movie, "The Amazing Panda A dventure,"
Sunday evening.
Other dates to remember: Tuesday and Thursday exercise, 10
a.m.; Wednesday blood pressure clinic, 11 a.m., senior meal,
noon, senior center board meeting, 1 p.m.; Friday cards, 7 p.m.;
Sunday movie, 7 p.m.

A scholarship is available to
students enrolled in an accred­
ited program in the state of
Oregon to become a primary
care physician, nurse practi­
tioner, physician's assistant or
nurse midwife.
To qualify for this scholar­
ship, students must live in a
federally designated Health
Professional Shortage Area
(HPSA) in Oregon and be
sponsored by a non-profit
group in their community. The
students must also agree to
Hall in Spray.
Old time music will be pro­
vided by the "W heel Jam­
m ers". Those attending are
asked to bring a dish of their
choice (meat will be furnished).
The family says that no gifts are
