The Cardinals got off to a slow start and trailed 17-13 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Car­ dinals picked up the defensive intensity and moved the ball well on the offensive end, fin­ ding the open man to score 32 points in the quarter. Jon Gar­ rett led the second quarter charge with 14 points. The Car­ dinals led 45-30 at the half and never looked back. All but two, of the Cardinals scored, and six players were in double figures, led by Garrett with 18, followed by Luke Swanson with 15, Jake McElli­ gott with 11, and Joe Bacon, Marc Orem and Petr Hybs had 10 each. led the charge on the boards with eight rebounds, followed by Hybs with six. The bride's parents are Clarence and Clarice Baker of Hepp­ ner and the groom's are Raymond and Sandra Niedbala of Granger. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Matron of honor was Lynda Baker of Hermiston and bridesmaid was Jan Murrell of Lebanon, sisters of the bride. Best man was Paul Guest of Visalia, California and groomsman was Rod Hensel of Vancouver, B.C. Candlelighters were Elizabeth Baker of Heppner and Robert Beaubien of Hermiston, niece and nephew of the bride. Flower girl was Hailee Baker of Pendleton, the bride's niece and ring bearer was Zachary Johnson of Hermiston. Ushers were William Baker of Tillamook and Steve Baker of Pendleton, brothers of the bride. Attending the guest book was Sarah Baker of Hepp- ner and program attendant was Hidee Baker of Pendletcrh, the bride's nieces. Gift attendant was Ryan Beaubien of Roseburg, the bride's nephew. Music was provided by Kathryn Hoskins, organist and Betty Marquardt, pianist, with the Reverend Steve Fricks, soloist, who also gave the scripture reading and prayer, The bride wore a traditional floor length gown of white satin with a round neckline and bodice beaded with seed pearls, se- quins and applique. Her four foot train was trimmed with pearls. She wore a fingertip veil with a band of applique, seed pearls and sequins. A reception was held in the church fellowship hall. The cake was ma£je by the bride's sister, Jan Murrell and decorated by Jar and Kelly Jo Keithly. The cake was served by Patti Baker ol Pendleton and Debra Baker of Tillamook, the bride s sisters-in- law. Punch was served by Marjorie Baker of Portland and Betty Orton of Woodburn, aunts of the bride. Heppner dominated the entire game, with the final score, 48-37. Annie Hisler lead all scoring with 10 points, followed by Jossie Evans adding nine points. Jill Barber and Lexi Mat- teson each scored eight points, Lori Moeller added seven, Tina Kemp, four points, and to round out the scoring, Jaci Hughes hit two foul shots at the end of the game. Coach John Boyer stated, "We are playing with a lot of confidence right now. Jossie Evans and Lori Moeller work­ ed very hard to control the in­ side against their big girls." MCGC meets Mick Sharp shot a perfect 25 to win the 16-yard event at the Morrow County Gun Club Sunday, Feb. 11. Jeff Cutsforth, Pat Lovgren and Harvey Child­ ers tied for second with 24 apiece. Cutsforth led the handicap event with 24 targets broken and Lovgren took second with a 23. Four Annie Oakleys were played out, with Tony Green­ up, Jon Hedman, Childers and Cutsforth each taking a win. The gun club will be open Sunday, Feb. 18, at noon for another afternoon of trapshoot­ ing.
