Stan field 's hot outside
shooting and a bunch of second
half Heppner fouls, led the
Tigers to a 79-73 victory over
the visiting Mustangs Saturday
night.
The two teams stayed even
through the first half, with
Stanfield up by one at the
break, and Heppner came out
to take a lead in the third
quarter, but a rash of Heppner
fouls that put the Tigers in the
bonus and at the line early,
helped Stanfield erase a 10
point Mustang lead and claim
the victory. The Tigers also
bagged eight 3-point baskets in
the game.
The Mustangs Ben Hubert
had his best scoring night of the
year, putting up 34 points in
the effort. Others reaching dou
ble figures were Jim Schliach
with 15 and Chris Sykes with
14 points on the night.

ner's number this season, and
that number is two-2 wins.
Friday
the TigerScots
delivered a strong third
quarter, playing the game their
way and coming away with a
71-51 victory for the second
time this season.

McEwen up by only 4, but a
23-12 advantage on offense in
the third, and a strong
TigerScot defense on the other
end put the game out of reach
for the Mustangs.
Heppner couldn't get inside
shots past Weston-McEwen's
big 6ft-8inch post man, and
coupled with a strong third
quarter of offense by Morgan
Dunlap, pulled away for the
victory.
Justin Matteson lead the
Mustang scoring with 18,
followed by Ben Hubert with
12, Chris Sykes with 8, Eric
Shonbachler 6, Dan Burnside 3,
and Jim Schliach and David
Michael with 2 each.

The Heppner Fillies traveled
to Stanfield, Saturday, Feb. 11.
Heppner pulled out the win,
42-28, but played very flat the
first half; the team seemed tired
after their effort against West
on-McEwen the previous
evening.
Midway through the third
quarter, the guards, Annie
Hisler, Lexi Matteson and Jill
Barber took control and helped
spark the team to victory.
Hisler lead the scoring with
11, while Lori Moeller and
Barber each had nine points.
Jossie Evans added five, Tina
Kemp and Matteson each had
three points, and Mindy
Binschus rounded out the scor
ing with two points.
The Fillies' next game was at
Sherman County on Tuesday,
Feb. 13; they travel to Pilot
Rock on Friday, Feb. 16 and
will then host Sherman Coun
ty on Saturday, Feb. 17, for
their last home game.
