Class of 1990-91 wins third straight alumni tournament
The Heppner High classes of
1990-91 were victorious for the
third straight year in a row dur
ing the 1995 Alumni Tourna
ment held Dec. 30-31 at Hepp
ner High School and Junior
High.
The '90-91 team of Slater Mit
chell, Russell Britt, Casey
Pedro, Bob Krein, Jacob Maben
and Doug Devin edged out the
second place '82-89 team of Jeff
Orr, Dwayne Ball, Dick Devin,
Steve Currin, Craig Angell,
Brian Kollman, Matt Howard
and Steve Gross.
The three women's teams
each played two games, with
each team winning one.
Chairperson. Dana Reid said
that while the number of spec
tators was about usual, parti
cipation was lower than in the
past. Reid said that the Alum
ni Association is considering
not having a basketball tourna
ment next year, or perhaps
scheduling a golf tournament
instead.
