office in Heppner reports

July 25: Morrow County
Sheriff's office dispatched the
Boardman ambulance and Fire
Dept, to a single vehicle acci­
dent on 1-84, milepost 159. No
transport was made;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the lone Fire
Dept, for a field fire in the lone
area. Page was cancelled en
route;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the Irrigon area
for a disturbance. Call was
unfounded;
Morrow County deputy
assisted the Forest Service with
seizing a wood permit tag;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the Heppner area
for an animal problem;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the West Genn
Addition for a disturbance. An
investigation was started.
July 26: Morrow County
deputy investigated a report of
a fire on Taggares Farms in the
Boardman area. It was a con­
trolled bum;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Heppner
Fire Dept, to a residence on
South Chase St. for a structure
fire. The fire was put out;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Condon Fire
Dept, to a vehicle fire on North
Lincoln;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the Irrigon area
for an animal problem;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Mitchell am­
bulance to Richmond Road.
One male was tranported to the
clinic;
Morrow County deputy
responded to a disturbance in
the Irrigon area;
Morrow County deputy took
a theft report from Tracy Rear­
don of Irrigon. A stereo was
taken;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the Irrigon area
for a report of a missing vehi­
cle. The investigation is
continuing;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Spray Fire
Dept, to the Bill Wyatt
residence two miles north of
Spray on Highway 19 for a
structure fire.
July 27: Morrow County
deputy responded to the Hard­
man area to assist with traffic
control for a load of logs in the
road;
Morrow County deputy
responded to Oregon Farm
Management for an audible
alarm. It was a false alarm.
July 28: Morrow County
deputy investigated a report of
suspicious vehicles on the
Umatilla refuge;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice responded to a one car ac­
cident on Tower Road in Board-
man. One patient was trans­
ported to Good Shepherd
Community Hospital in Herm-
iston;
Morrow County deputy
assisted a motorist on 1-84 and
transported them to the Board-
man area;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Heppner
ambulance to the Willow Creek
Reservoir in Heppner for a
male down. Patient was
transported
to
Pioneer
Memorial Hospital, then air
lifted to Oregon Health
Sciences University Hospital in
Portland.
July 29: Morrow County
deputy
investigated
a
suspicious vehicle at Three Mile
Canyon. An all points bulletin
was sent out for a missing adult
female. An investigation was
started. The subject was located
later in the day;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice recovered a stolen vehicle
in the Irrigon area. The vehicle
was stolen out of the Stanfield
area;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Fossil Fire
Dept, to a fire at the county
dum p;
Morrow County deputy re­
sponded to a disturbance in the

Senior Center
Bulletin Board
There were about 100 dinners served at the Senior Center,
Wednesday, August 2. Martha King won the meal ticket.
Members of the Mormon Church served. Hostesses were Lynn
Bibby and Elsie Huston. There was hearing aid assistance given
and blood pressures taken before the meal.
The menu for August 16 will be chicken patty on a roll, let­
tuce, cheese, French fries, bean salad and blueberries or other
fruit. Members of the lone Church of Christ will serve.
There were two tables of cards in play Friday afternoon. Nine
seniors watched the movie, "Baby's Day O ut" Sunday evening.
The Senior Center will again have the pie booth at the fair.
Please help by making pies or contributing to help with expenses.
Also, sign up for a work shift if you are able. Proceeds go to help
keep the center running.
There was a child's jacket left at the center dining room when
the children from the vacafion Bible school came to sing for the
seniors. The owner may pick it up at the center any weekday,
between 9 a.m. and 5p.m . The office is often closed during the
noon hour.
Other dates to remember: Tuesday and Thursday, exercise 10
a.m.; Wednesday blood pressure 11a.m., senior meal noon; Fri­
day cards 2 p.m.; Sunday movie 7 p.m.; Wednesday, August
16 through Friday, August 18, pie booth at the fair from 10:30
a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
B M C C golf classes set for Sept.
Blue Mountain Community
College will offer beginning
and intermediate golf classes
beginning September 7. In­
terested students are urged to
preregister with Morrow Coun­
ty coordinator, Anne Morter,
prior to the start of class.
Beginning golf will be offered
on Thursdays from 5-6:30 p.m.
at the Willow Creek Country
Club. The class will run for six
weeks.
The class is intended for peo­
ple with little or no prior golf­
ing experience. It will cover the
basics of the rules, play and eti­
quette of the game. The skills
of putting, chipping, pitching,
approaching, fairway shots and
teeing off will be covered.
School students in grades five
and above may enroll in the
class with the instructor's per­
mission on a space available
basis and if an adult takes the
class with them.
Intermediate golf will be held
on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to
noon beginning September 7
and lasting nine weeks. The
class will begin with a video
session, tentatively set for All
Saints Episcopal Parish Hall
before moving to Willow Creek
Country Club for course play.
The class, intended for peo­
ple with some prior golfing ex­
perience, will review the basics
of grip, stance/setup and
swing. The basics will be ap­
plied to improve students'
skills in the long and short
game; trouble shots including
sand play, rough and wind;
shotmaking; strategy of play
and problem correction.
The cost for the beginning
class is $20 per person with a
$20 temporary membership fee
for non-members of Willow
Creek Country Qub. The cost
for the intermediate class is $25
plus $20 for non-members of
WCCC.

Morrow County deputy ar­
rested Linda Lee Frazier, 44, of
Umatilla. Frazier was given a
court order to appear on a Theft
III Warrant out of the Her-
miston Police Dept.;
Morrow County deputy
responded to a disturbance in
the Irrigon area;
Morrow County deputy
began an investigation of stolen
property in the Irrigon area.
July 30: Morrow County
deputy arrested Gunner
Wayne Hollevoet, 24, Her-
miston, for Disorderly Con­
duct. Hollevoet was cited and
released;
Morrow County deputy in­
vestigated an animal problem
in the Boardman area;
Morrow County deputy
responded to Oregon Farm
Management, Division Street,
Irrigon, for an alarm. It was a
false alarm;
Morrow County deputy
responded to a noise complaint
in the Irrigon area;
Morrow County deputy took
a report of stolen property from
the Irrigon Trailer Court.
July 31: Morrow County
deputy arrested Shane Presley
Farr, 23, Pendleton, for Driving
While Suspended and a
Umatilla County warrant for
Failure to Appear/Driving
While Revoked. Farr was lodg­
ed at the Umatilla County Jail.
August 1: Morrow County
Sheriff's office dispatched the
Boardman Fire Dept, for a
smoke alarm at Riverside High
School. It was a false alarm;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Boardman
ambulance to the west end of
Kunze Road for a female with
an illness. The patient was
transported to Good Shepherd
Community H ospital in
Hermiston.
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Arlington
ambulance and Fire Dept, to a
boat fire on the John Day River.
Transport was made by private
vehicle;
Morrow County deputy ar­
rested Patrick Dean Marshall,
38, for Burglary I and Assault
IV. Marshall was lodged at the
Umatilla County Jail.
August 2: Morrow County
Sheriff's office dispatched the
Condon ambulance to Church
St. for an adult male with an il­
lness. The patient was trans­
ported to Mid Columbia Med­
ical Center in The Dalles;
Morrow County deputy
responded to a shooting inci­
dent at an Irrigon residence;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Boardman
Fire Dept, for a structure fire in
the West Glenn addition. The
structure was fully engulfed;
Morrow County deputy
responded to a report of a civil
problem dealing with an evic­
tion in the Boardman area;
Morrow County deputy
assisted the Boardman Police
Dept, with an open door to a
residence in Boardman;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Boardman
ambulance to Malhuer St. One
female was transported to
Good Shepherd Community
Hospital in Hermiston with an
illness;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the Texaco station
to take a complaint of a
disturbance.
August 4: Morrow County
deputy responded to a disabl­
ed vehicle on 1-84;
Morrow County deputy in­
vestigated a report of
suspicious circumstances in the
lone area;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Heppner
ambulance to Sperry St. for a
man with an illness. The pa­
tient was transported to
Pioneer Memorial Hospital;

responded to a domestic pro­
blem in the Irrigon area;
Morrow County deputy
Assisted the Richland Police
Dept, with a missing juvenile.
The juvenile was located in
Irrigon;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­

District Ranger, Delanne
Ferguson, made a decision to
implement the Forest Stand
Fertilization Project on the
Heppner Ranger District. The
fertilization treatments would
enhance tree growth and vigor
to provide wildlife cover and
increase resistance to insect and
disease attack. Fertilization
would take place within plant­
ed units of the Texas Timber
Sale.
