Engagements
Temples win Polaris ATV
The Temple family was the winner of the ATV Polaris 4-wheeler
raffled off by the Morrow County Oregon Trail Pro Rodeo Com­
mittee and Fair Board. Bonnie Grant and her daughter Josey (r)
got the privilege of delivering it Monday to their home in Lexington.
Standing by Grant is Dick Temple. On the 4-wheeler is l-r Kimberly
Temple, Karen, Krystal and Laurel Temple.
Former CBEC manager retires
Jorgenson - Martin
Jared Hal Jorgensen and Jennifer Lee Martin have announced
their engagement and upcoming marriage.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Tom and Shirley Martin of
Lexington and Lee and Mary Grines of Salem. She is a graduate
of Central Oregon Community College and will be attending
Oregon State University. She is employed by Natural Resources
Conservation Service in The Dalles.
Jorgensen is the son of Hal and Donna Jorgensen of Pleasant
Grove, Utah. He is a graduate of Sprague High School of Salem
and will be attending his second year at Oregon State University.
The couple plan an April 2 wedding in Salem.
BEO Condon branch to open May 8
The Bank of Eastern Ore­
gon's Condon branch will open
for business May 8 according to
branch manager John Moffit.
Linda Davis, Wendy Liptak,
Kathy Burres and Judy Galvin
have been hired and will begin
training March 27. The em­
ployees will be trained at the
Heppner, lone and Arlington
branches during the five weeks
preceding the branch opening.
The branch is slated to be
open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on
Saturday May 13 and 20 to
allow customers easy access to
the branch, Moffit stated.
O rFC E district VII meeting slated
Members of Family Com­
munity Education organiza­
tions from Morrow, Umatilla,
Union and Wallowa Counties
will gather for their annual
District VII meeting on
Wednesday, March 29, in
Irrigon.
The meeting will provide op­
portunities to make new
friends, visit with former
friends, enjoy a presentation on
New Zealand by Joanne Kock,
Sherman/Wasco County Home

be at 9:30 a.m. The meeting

Former Heppner resident
Dave Harrison has announced
his retirement with Farmers In­
surance Agency at Cheney,
WA. as of January 1.
Harrison
was general
manager of Columbia Basin
Electric Co-op from 1972 to 1978
and managed four other RECs
prior for many years.
He was active in the Hepp­
ner community and he along
with Harold Kerr arranged the
first girls' little league softball
program. He was a primary
organizer of the Lions Club in
Heppner later serving as presi­
dent and held offices of zone
chairman and deputy dist.
Tree pruning workshop March 23
Healthy trees contribute
greatly to the quality of life in
eastern Oregon. If trees are
taken for granted, they may

damaged by inappropriate
practices.

workshop will be conducted by
the Oregon Department of
Forestry, in cooperation with
the Morrow County Extension
Service. The clinic will be held
at the Morrow County Exten­
sion office located in the Petty­
john building beginning at 4
p.m.
The Oregon Department of
Forestry will begin both pro­
grams with an audio-visual
presentation, then take par­
ticipants to city property for a
"h a n d s-o n ” pruning ex­
perience. Participants should
be prepared with appropriate
outdoor clothing.
There is no cost to attend this
educational program. Par­
ticipants will learn: proper tree
care; the dangers of topping
trees; how to have the best
looking trees in the neighbor­
hood; and correct pruning
techniques. For more informa­

Blue Mountain Commuinty
College will offer a quilting
class in the Heppner area again
this spring, according to Anne
Morter, Morrow County co­
ordinator.
Pam Worden will instruct
students in one of three quilt
paterns including Monkey
Wrench, Ohio Star and Bear
Paw.
Monkey Wrench is most
suitable for a beginner and the
Bear Paw is the most difficult
of the trio. All three patterns
are available in one book at
Fabrics, Etc. in Heppner.
The class will meet on Mon­
day evenings from 6-9 p.m. at
Heppner High School beginn­
ing April 10. The class is
scheduled for six weeks. Enroll­
ment is limited so pre-regis­
tration is required.
All skill levels are welcome
although novices are encourag­
ed to visit with the instructor
prior to class in regard to quilt
size, fabric, etc. Students with
quilting questions should con­
tact Worden at 676-9756. To

page 38823, (indicate which),
covering the following describ­
ed real property situated in said
county and state, to-wit:

Both the beneficiary and the
trustees have elected to sell the
said real property to satisfy the
obligations secured by said
trust deed and a notice of
default has been recorded pur­

made is grantor's failure to pay

130, 131, and 133. These pro­
jects will reduce sediment
displacement and provide im­
proved access to forest and
private lands.
