Arts group plans Christmas party
Morrow County Creative
Arts will meet Monday, Dec.
12, at 1 p.m. at Kate's Pizza for
their annual Christmas party.
Those attending are asked to
bring Christmas goodies and an
exhange gift not over $5.
An election of officers will
also be held.

Garden Club workshop successful Christmas concert planned Dec. 11
The Heppner Garden Club
credits the "great community
that contributed generously to
another successful Christmas
greens workshop at the Artifac-
tory this year".
According to a Garden Club
spokesperson, the community
support of the greens program
enables the club to return the
"favor" in street beautification,
scholarships, donations to day
care, the Neighborhood
Center, the senior center and
swimming pool, among others.
Anyone needing some of the
leftover greens may pick them
up at the Wilbur Jackson home
on Chase St. The greens will be
in the trailer parked on the
lower level.

Choir, under the direction of
Deborah Wryn, lone, will pre
sent its Christmas Concert on
Sunday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. at
St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
The group will sing a variety
of songs, from a traditional
Spanish carol called, "Fum,
Fum, Fum ," to a John Rutter
piece entitled, "Candlelight
C a ro l". "C alypso C arol"
features two local flautists, Ann
Murray and Sarah Carlson.
There will also be several tradi
tional songs such as "Silver
Bells".
Sharia Erich, Heppner, is
accompanist.
"An exciting feature," says
Wrynn, is the Heppner String
Quartet, who will perform

"E in e
Kleine
Nachtmusik". Members of the
string quartet are Rosalie
Scharen, Kathryn Unruh,
Sharia Erich and Laura
McElligott.
There is no admission charge
for the concert, but a freewill
offering will be available.

Due to a scheduling mix up the American Legion Auxiliary and
the Housing Authority board both met at the senior center Mon
day evening, Nov. 28. One group met in the office and the other
group met in the sitting room,

Ralph Walker brought in a beautiful Christmas tree for the
center. He does this each year and it is much appreciated.
Dorothy Henderson has moved to a foster care home in Board-
man. She will be missed by everyone here.

The bus is filled for the trip to Hermiston for the "Singing
Christmas Tree", shopping and dining out on Dec. 11. This will
be the last bus trip until the spring.
Other dates to remember: Monday, Bible study 10 a.m.; Tues.,
and Thurs., exercise, 10 a.m; Wednesday, senior meal, noon;
Friday, cards, 2 p.m.; Sunday, movie, 7 p.m.

International club to hold bottle drive
The high school International
Club will hold a bottle drive in
Heppner this Friday, Dec. 9,
from 5 to 7 p.m.
Those who would like to
donate returnable bottles and
cans, but who will not be home
that evening, may leave the
bottles on their porch for
pickup. Anyone who is missed
may call April Sykes, 676-9939
or 676-9228, and someone will
come by.
