FORMATION OF A BOARDMAN COMMUNITY HEALTH DISTRICT,
WITH TAX BASE
QUESTION: Shall a Health Distric t with a tax base of $ 160,000.00 be formed to serve the people of the Board-
man community?
SUMMARY: The purpose of this measure is to form a health district which shall l>e responsible for providing
medical services to the people residing within the district. The district would include the area lying north of
the section lines forming the north boundary ot the Bombing Range (extended west to the Morrow/Gilliam County
Imundary) and west of an imaginary line extending from Bombing Range Road to the Columbia River. The district,
if approved, would be formed with a tax base of $160,000.00; the tax levy necessary to raise this amount of revenue
is subject to the limits of Section 1 lb, Article XI of the Oregon Constitution. Revenues to be raised will be used
for direct health care, such as physician services, medical equipment, and ambulance, and not for exclusively
educational and support services. The estimated tax impact within the territory which comprises the district is
$1.5397 per thousand dollars of value, based on current valuations; this is an estimate only based on the best
information available from the County Assessor at the time of estimate.
