Sheriff» Report
The Morrow County Sheriff's
Office in Heppner reports
dispatching the following
business during the past week:
October 11: Morrow County
deputy arrested Jack Lee
Brasel, 35, Pendleton, on a
Umatilla County warrant for
Failure to Appear on a Posses­
sion of Unlawful Weapon.
Brasel was transported to
Umatilla County Sheriff's Of­
fice in Pendleton;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Mitchell
Ambulance to a residence in
Mitchell for a woman with an
illness;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the lone Fire
Dept, to a CRP grass fire on
Mason Davidson road in lone.
Fire was extinguished;
Morrow County deputy
began an investigation of a
theft from the Todd Peterson
residence in lone. Amount of
value and items were unknown
at press time;
Morrow County deputy
assisted a disabled motorist on
Hwv. 207 at Casey Canyon;
Morrow County Sheriff's of
fice dispatched the Boardman
Fire Dept to a grass fire off of
Paul Smith Road. Fire was
extinguished;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the Boardman
area for a report of a dump
truck that was speeding;
Morrow County deputy
received a report of several peo­
ple pushing a stroller on 1-84,
eastbound at mile post 153.
October 12: Morrow County
deputy responded to the River­
side High School in Boardman
for a report of people who were
not students in the school;
Morrow County deputy
began an investigation of a
burglary at Anson Wright Park.
Amount of money and other
items taken were unknown at
press time;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Fossil Am­
bulance to the Haven House in
Fossil for a woman with an
illness;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the- Irrigon area
for a report of a wreckless
driver.
October 13: Morrow County
Sheriff's office dispatched the
Boardman Ambulance to 1-84,
east bound at mile post 167 for
an accident involving two
vehicles. One person was
transported to Good Shepherd
Community Hospital with
injuries;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Spray am­
bulance to Thorn St. Patient
was transported to St. Charles
Medical Center in Bend;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Heppner
Fire Dept to a grass fire on Rock
St.;
Morrow County deputy
assisted the Boardman Police
Dept with a report of a theft of
service.
PUBLIC NOTICE
October 14: Morrow County
deputy arrested Mike Leonard
Stanley, 34, Irrigon, for Assault
IV, domestic. Stanley was
taken to court for arraignment
and released;
Morrow County deputy ar­
rested Elijio Mendoza-Morales,
43, Plymouth, WA., for a Driv­
ing While Suspended felony;
Driving Under the Influence of
Intoxicants and numerous war­
rants from Klamath Falls, Her-
miston and Pendleton. He was
taken to Umatilla County for
lodging on their warrants;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Arlington
Ambulance to Main St., Arl­
ington for two people injured
in a vehicle accident. Both were
transported to Mid Columbia
Medical Center in The Dalles.
October 15: Morrow County
deputy assisted a motorist that
was out of gas on 1-84;
Morrow County deputy
assisted a disabled motorist that
needed a tow on 1-84;
Morrow County deputy
responded to Riverview Mobile
Court, Irrigon, regarding a civil
problem;
Morrow County deputy
responded to Rt. 2, Irrigon,
regarding a possible problem.
Call was unfounded;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Heppner
Fire Dept, and Ambulance to
Cutsforth Comer for a report of
a vehicle accident. Call was
unfounded;
Morrow County deputy
responded to a Boardman
residence for a report of
suspicious circum stances.
Everything was fine;
Morrow County deputy ar­
rested Barney Gillett, 35, Ir­
rigon, for Assault IV, domestic.
He was lodged at Benton
Franklin County jail.
October 16: Morrow County
deputy responded to Brown's
Mini Mart, Irrigon, for a report
of a possible break-in. Call was
unfounded;
Morrow County deputy re­
sponded to Rt. 2 Box 489, Ir­
rigon to begin an investigation
of a stereo that had been stolen.
Amount of value was
unknown;
Morrow County deputy re­
sponded to Hilltop Drive,
Boardman, for a neighborhood
disturbance.
October 17: Morrow County
deputy responded to the foot­
ball field in Heppner for a
report of damage to the field by
a vehicle;
Morrow County Sheriff's of­
fice dispatched the Boardman
Ambulance to the clinic to
transport a patient with an il­
lness to Good Shepherd Com­
munity Hospital in Hermiston;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the lone area for
a report of criminal mischief
done to a rental;
Morrow County deputy
responded to the Boardman
area for a report of telephone
harassment;
Morrow County deputy be­
gan investigation of a possible
civil problem in the Heppner
area;
Morrow County deputy as­
sisted the Boardman Police
Dept, with a civil problem at a
local business;
Morrow County deputy be­
gan investigation of a possible
civil problem at an Irrigon
trailer court.______________

Christopher E. Jones has
graduated from the aerospace
ground equipment mechanic
course at Sheppard Air Force
Base, Wichita Falls, Texas.
Students were taught the in­
spection, maintenance, and
repair of aircraft ground equip­
ment. Included in the training
were pertinent administrative
tasks and safety procedures.
Jones is the son of retired Air
Force Maj. Donald E. and
Lovann E. Jones of Irrigon.
He is a 1993 graduate of Hun­
tington High School.
