Letter to the Editor -
Taxpayers can't afford construction
To the Editor
The voters of Morrow Coun
ty wisely rejected the $15.5
million school bond measure;
the same one they defeated last
year. After that election some
of the school board members
wanted to down size the
measure before resubmitting it
to the voters for reconsidera
tion, but one of the board
members was reported in the
newspaper to have said
something similar to “ no way,
let's shove it to them again”
which they did.
Well, the voters shoved it
back to the board, hopefully for
a more realistic proposal. We
taxpayers can't afford, nor do
we want to pay for any more
gymnasiums,
conference
rooms or media centers, what
ever they are?
The school superintendent
said the enrollment this year is
about the same as last year, so
why is he asking for so many
new classrooms?
