The senior bus and driver Ed Baker took 17 passengers to Monu
ment June 7. Lunch was enjoyed with the seniors there.
There were 105 people present for the senior dinner June 8. Ten
meals were sent out. Bethene Dengon won the meal ticket and Mildred
Wright the door prize. Members of the Baptist Church served.
The menu for June 22 will be hamburger rice casserole, carrots,
rolls, apple sauce and date cookies. Members of the Episcopal Church
will serve.
Volunteers folded newsletters for the Extension Service Friday,
June 10.
Dorothy Henderson, a tenant of the senior apartments was taken
by ambulance to Pioneer Memorial Hospital Saturday afternoon after
suffering a stroke. Irene Swanson, another tenant, also went to the
hospital Saturday.
Eight people watched the Sunday movie Mrs. Doubtfire which was
loaned by Irene Schroeder.
Dates to remember: Tues., and Thurs., exercise, 10 a.m.; Fri
day, cards, 2 p.m .; Sunday, movie, 7 p.m.
With so many volunteers ill we need some new volunteers. It’s
not hard work, just sit in the office, answer the phone, take messages
and give information. Shifts are half day, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1 to
5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please call 676-9030 or stop by to
volunteer. Any seniors are welcome, gals or guys. Please help our
center and be a volunteer.
