12 at Willow Creek Reservoir
turned out to be very successful,
according to sponsors. Over 80
kids were registered which is
more than previous years. Eigh

ticipated along with 35 six-nine
year olds and 27 10-13 year olds.
Amid the chaos at weigh-in time,

By Amber Flaiz, reporter
Saturday, June 11 the club met
at Superior Farms in Hermistion.
Those present were: Lindsay
Ward, Amber Flaiz, Levi Geer,
Roxanne Miller and Nicki.
They raise Sheep for market at
Superior Farms. The members
had a very informative guide,
Glenn. Members discussed how
to grade sheep, when and where
to vaccinate them, how to cure
foot rot, how to tell if the lamb
is becoming unhealthy and how
and what to feed the lamb to get
a good finish for marketable sale.
Members learned that it is very
important to keep the sheep clean
to prevent possible diseases.
Also, keep the drinking water
clean and available at all times.
Glenn answered many questions
with helpful hints in raising a hap
py and healthy lamb.
Members then took their sheep
to be slick-sheared. This will help
during those hot summer months.
To conclude the meeting they
went to Pizza Hut, where they
discussed the facinating things
they had learned about raising
sheep.

The request for OTC Zovirax
is for the 200 mg oral capsule. If
approved, Zovirax would become
the first OTC medicine in the
United States available for the treat
ment of a sexually transmitted dis
ease. It would also be the first
antimicrobial (infection fighter)
medicine for systemic use given
approval as a nonprescription drug.
The indicated OTC use o f Zovirax
capsules would be for the suppres
sive management of recurring geni
tal herpes infection. Since the vi
rus which causes herpes remains
in the body after the infection goes
away, many people have episodes
o f recurring herpes infections.
According to a report in a re
cent issue of Journal of the Ameri
can Medical Association, poten
tial opposition to OTC Zovirax
may be based on (1) the inability of
many individuals to diagnose geni
tal herpes without the aid of a
physician, (2) potential misuse of
the drug for unapproved uses, and
(3) safety factors such as the po
tential for adverse effects of the
drug in the unborn.
