Sheriff’s Report
The Morrow County Sh eriffs
office in Heppner reports dispat­
ching the following information
during the past week:
March 14: Morrow County
deputy arrested John Earl
L aG row , 23, Irrigon, for
Unlawful Possession o f a Short-
Barrelled Firearm, Reckless En­
dangering and Disorderly Con­
duct. He was lodged;
Morrow County deputy in­
vestigated a report o f a possible
assault in Irrigon. No enforce­
ment action was taken.
March 15: Morrow County
Sheriff s office arrested Wesley
R. Brooks, 42, Irrigon, for Driv­
ing Under the Influence of
Intoxicants;
M orrow County deputy
responded to the Boardman area
for a neighborhood disturbance;
Morrow County Sh eriffs of­
fice arrested Penny Fritz, Irrigon
for Failure to Pay Fine/Posses-
sion o f Less than One ounce
Marijuana. Bail was set at $568;
M orrow County deputy
assisted the Boardman Police
Dept, with a report of a possible
stolen vehicle;
Morrow County deputy in­
vestigated a report o f garbage
dumped on private property near
Lexington;
Morrow County Sheriff s of­
fice dispatched the Boardman
Fire Department to a grass fire
out of control by Easter Garden
Estates. Fire turned out to be a
controlled burn;
Morrow County Sheriff s of­
fice dispatched the Boardman
Fire Dept to a fire by the golf
course. The burning was under
control.
March 16: Morrow County
deputy responded to the Board-
man area in response to the report
of a possible drunk driver;
Morrow County deputy located
a missing juvenile from the Her-
miston area;
M orrow County deputy
responded to a disturbance in the
parking lot of the Nomad in
Boardman;
Morrow County Sheriff s of­
fice dispatched the Boardman
Ambulance to 1-84, east bound at
mile post 168. There was no
transport;
M orrow County deputy
responded to the Irrigon area for
a domestic;
Morrow County Sheriff s of­
fice dispatched the Condon Fire
Dept to W. Bayard for a field
fire.
March 17: Morrow County
Sh eriffs office dispatched the
Boardman ambulance to 1-84,
mile post 168 for a male with an
illness. There was no transport;
Morrow County Sheriff s of­
fice responded to a report o f a
domestic disturbance near Ir­
rigon. Situation was diffused;
Morrow County Sheriff s of­
fice dispatched the Condon Fire
Dept to W. Bayard to a field fire;
M orrow County deputy
responded to 1-84 near the Board-
man area in response to a com­
plaint o f a possible drunk driver;
Morrow County Sheriff s of­
fice dispatched the Boardman
E M T 's to the ambulance hall for
a female with difficulty breathing.
March 18: Morrow County
deputy assisted a citizen who was
locked out of their vehicle in
Boardman:
M orrow County deputy
responded to an Irrigon residence
in response to a neighbors dogs
chasing cattle;
Morrow County deputy con­
tacted a residence in lexington
about a possible theft;
M orrow County deputy
responded to a complaint o f loud
music in the Irrigon area.
March 19: Morrow County
deputy responded to a report of
a family disturbance in Irrigon.
There was no enforcement action
taken;
M orrow County deputy
responded to a complaint of so­
meone driving A T V 's on
unauthorized propoerty;
M orrow County deputy
responded with the marine boat
to the Columbia River to search
for a person that had been
reportedly seen in the river;
M orrow County deputy
assisted a citizen with unlocking
their vehicle they had locked their
keys in;
M orrow County deputy
responded to a complaint o f a
family disturbance in lone. No
enforcement action was taken;
M orrow County deputy
responded to assist the Boardman
Police Dept with a report o f a
disturbance caused by a juvenile
at the Outback Apartments in
Boardman.
March 20: Morrow County
Sh eriffs office arrested Maria
Cavillo, 33, Boardman, for
Failure To Appear/Theft III.
Cavillo posted bail and was given
a court date;
M orrow County deputy
responded to a disturbance near
Irrigon Mobile Park. There was
no enforcement action taken;
Morrow County deputy in­
vestigated an open 911 line.
Everything checked out okay;
Morrow County deputy in­
vestigated a report o f criminal
mischief at Ruggs. Investigation
is continuing.
March 21: Morrow County
deputy responded to Washington
Street, Irrigon , regarding
vandalism;
Morrow County Sh eriff s of­
fice dispatched the Heppner am­
bulance to Gale Street. One
female with an illness was
transported to Pioneer Memorial
Hospital;
M orrow County deputy
responded to Division Street, Ir­
rigon, for a vehicle in the canal;
Morrow County Sheriff s of­
fice dispatched the Arlington am­
bulance to the BP station for a
male with an illness. There was
no transport;
Morrow County deputy took a
call regarding a family dispute;
M orrow County deputy
responded to the Irrigon Post Of­
fice for a broken window;
Morrow County deputy ar­
rested Mollie Hubbs, 25. Irrigon,
for Assault. Hubbs was released
on her own recognizance and is
to appear in District Court;
Morrow County deputy in­
vestigated a report of suspicious
looking container on Wilson
Road;
Morrow County deputy
assisted the Boardman Police of­
fice with a report o f a prowler at
a Boardman residence.
Garden club donates to organizations
Creative Arts Club
to hold meeting
The Morrow County Creative
Arts club will meet Monday,
March 28 at 1 p.m. at Kate’s Piz­
za for an art-related program.
All members are encouraged to
attend.
The Heppner Garden Club
welcomed invited guests from
local service organizations at their
meeting March 7 held at the St.
Patrick’ s Senior Center. Club
members presented the guests
donations for their contributions
to community life in Heppner.
Recipients included the EM T’s,
Heppner Day Care. Heppner
Senior Center and the South Mor­
row Neighborhood Center.
Guests were Pennie Miller, Jay
Straley, Rose Marie Buschke and
Janice Skaggs.
Verna Brinda and Dorothy
Jackson presented a slide show on
a variety o f fences for gardens
and yards entitled “ Good Fences
Make Good Neighbors” .
The group also planned the
street planter decorations for St.
P atrick 's weekend. Vonnie
Lovgren reported on plans for a
club float for the Saturday parade.
Assisting her were Pat Brindle,
Cathy Dowrey and Dorothy
Jackson.
Betsy Kaiser was welcomed as
a new member.
Hostesses were Ida Farra and
Cathy Dowrey.
The April 4 meeting will be a
potluck dinner with Elaine Belts,
district director, presenting the
program on “ The Miniature
Floral Design” .
