Lutherans hold Thanksgiving service
Jepsen — Julio
Judy Marie Jepsen and Mike David Julio, both Pendleton exchanged
wedding vows in a ceremony at the Colonial Wedding Chapel at Coeur
D'Alene, Idaho on November 13, 1993.
The bride is the daughter of John and Jean Jepsen, lone and Julio’s
parents are Chubbins Julio. Post Falls, Id., and the late Chester Julio.
The bride is a 1990 graduate of lone High School and graduated
from Beau Monde Beauty School at Portland. She is employed with
New Image Hair Designs as a manicurist in Pendleton.
* The groom graduated from Port Falls, ID., high school in 1990.
He is employed at Hill Meat Company in Pendleton.

Valby Lutheran churches invite
people to participate in a worship
service of Thanksgiving on
Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 7:30
p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in
Heppner.
Thanksgiving day a service will
be held at 9 a.m. at Valby
Lutheran church. Visitors and
friends are welcome.
Sunday, Nov. 28 the congrega
tions will observe the first Sun
day of the Advent season. Advent
is four weeks or Sundays before
C hristm as when C hristians
prepare for the coming of the
Messiah, Jesus the Christ. The
first Sunday tells of the good
news of the Lord’s coming, his
coming at birth iri Bethlehem,
coming into the world, but also
his ever coming in grace today.
Pastor Hoobing will deliver the
sermon entitled, “ What Do You
Know: It’s A Parade", based on
the reading ofMark 11: 1-11.
During the next weeks there
will be mid-week advent services
built around the theme: “ A
Savior, Christ the Lord” . The
first one will be on Wednesday,
Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Valby
Lutheran Church. The first ad
vent service at Hope Lutheran
will be on Thursday, Dec. 2 at
7:30 p.m. The message will ex
amine one of the names spoken
about Jesus, Savior, Christ and
the Lord, by the angel. The first
message will be about “ Savior"
a word that brings to mind
Joshua,agent of God’s conquer
ing deliverance.
Visitors and friends are always
welcome to attend services and
events at the Hope and Valby
Lutheran Parish.
