The “ Eye of the Storm” a new
dramatic movie will be shown at
the Christian Life Center on Sun
day, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. The
movie stars Connie Selleca
(Hotel, PS 1 Luv You), Jeff Con
away (Taxi, Grease) and Deborah
Tucker
(D allas,
Happy
Campers).
The movie concerns award
winning TV journalist Tom Ed
wards (Conaway), who is retur
ning home from covering the Per
sian Gulf War. He and his pro
ducer Patricia “ Petre” Peterson
(Selleca) are given the task of
“ keeping the ratings high” .
It puts them at odds, since Tom
feels the best “ story” is one
which would trash the faith of
’ returning servicem en and
women. “ The war is over, what
role does God play now? Is He
out in the open or has He been put
back in the closet?” asks Tom in
his TV interviews. “ Petre” urges
him to let God “ speak” for
Himself.
Tom’s real war is at home with
his daughter and within his own
heart. In the wake of his wife’s
death, Tom immerses himself in

his work, leaving Jill (Tucker)
hurt alone. Their struggling at
tempts to reach out to each other
serve only to widen the gap bet
ween them.
Through the moving stories of
soldiers from Operation Desert
Storm and the faithful support of
co-worker “ Petre” Peterson,
Tom comes to experience ge
nuine peace in the midst of the
storms that engulf him.
“ Eye of the Storm” addresses
vital, timely issues very relevant
in today’s society. Families will
be captivated by the contem
porary story of what faces many
single parents and their children
as careers are juggled with per
sonal relationships.
“ This film will pierce the
hearts of viewers, both young and
old, as they identify with very
human hurts and find hope in
very real answers,” said a church
spokesperson.
“ Eye of the Storm” is produc
ed by World Wide Pictures, the
motion picture ministry of the
Billy G raham Evangelistic
Association.

Jenny Bingham shows her lastest needle point creation, a
recreation of the official logo of the Oregon Trail 150th anniver
sary celebration.
It took Bingham a little over three weeks to complete the
project, which she first layed out on graph paper before it was
actually done on 11 count cross stitch material.
She has been doing needle point for 20 years, and once did
a needle point of the Morrow County Courthouse.
