Governor Roberts reappoints Lewis
Keith Lewis and Debbs Potts of
Grants Pass were reappointed to
the Oregon State Lottery Com

Roberts.

School board accepts bus
The Morrow County School
Board, at their regular meeting
Monday night, voted to accept a
donation of a travel bus from the
Riverside High School Booster
Club.
The North Morrow County
delegation of around 50 people,
lead by Gary Neal. Port of Mor
row manager, Dave Youngbluth,
Riverside High School principal
and Dalarie Philippi, however,
made several stipulations to their
donation.
The club specified that the bus
is for the use of the Riverside
High School students for travel to
athletic and other Riverside High
School student events and further
stated that the bus is to be called
and “ appropriately painted and
lettered the ‘Riverside Pirate
Ship’.“
The club will donate the 1976
Prévost bus at no initial cost to
the district. However, the district
is to maintain the bus and pay all
costs of operation, including fuel,
driver’s wages and other costs.
The donors stipulate that the
Riverside High School principal
and athletic director schedule the
trips for which the “ Pirate Ship”
will be used. They added that the
bus “ might be considered for
providing travel for students of
other schools in the district when:
travel requirements at Riverside
High School are nil, travel re
quirements at other schools are
extraordinary such as post-season
competition and the above
designated scheduling committee
concur.”
The RHS Boosters say that pur
chase o f the 47-passenger
commercial-type bus was pro
mpted by the distances that the
Riverside teams must travel since

BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT
- Bob Sm ith is a principal sp on sor of a balanced budget

fires, and improve forest health.
