__ Letters to the Editor
Cut bowling alley operators some slack
To the Editor:
Can the city of Heppner afford
to have even one business close
at this time? The questions in
regard to the motor home belong
ing to Walt and Ida Foster, which
stays parked in back of the bowl
ing alley. Not only is the RV a
much preferred sight than the
junk yard, weed patch, which
was there before, but what will
happen if these people just get
fed-up with the harassment and
leave?
We have no swimming pool,
the library has no money to
operate on, and if the bowling
alley goes, not only will the kids
of the area have a recreation pro
blem, but many adults as well. If
the Fosters get fed-up and close
the alley, this leaves many of us
two choices, go nowhere or hang
out in the bars. The Fosters are
only trying to make a go of it.
Why not cut them some slack?

Wallace for district court judge
To the Editor:
I am writing to support Jeff
Wallace’s candidacy for Position
2, Umatilla-Morrow County
District Court Judge.
I have known Jeff Wallace
since he was involved in Future
Farmers of America at Umapine
High School. I have always been
impressed by Jeff s ability to deal
with people. He is very ethical
and straight forward. This has
carried over to his approach to the
law. He uses sound judgement in
making decisions. He is both pro
fessional and fair.
A district court judge deals
with a lot of people and many dif
ferent types of legal situations. A
judge needs to have a broad legal
background. As Morrow Coun
ty District Attorney, Jeff makes
sound decisions on a daily basis.
These are the kind of qualities we
need in a judge. That’s why I’m
voting for Jeff Wallace for district
court judge.
Sincerely,
(s) A.J. Beard

Glenn an advocate for his community
To the Editor:
I have known Ed Glenn, can
didate for Morrow County Com
missioner, to be an energetic ad
vocate for his community. And
that applies to all of Morrow
County.
Ed will work for sound,
economic development that will
help us all, and make the county
a better place to live. He is a
member of the Regional
Strategies Committee and has
Market Report
proven his allegiance to Morrow
County by backing projects that
help farmers, workers and all
taxpayers.
I intend to vote for Ed Glenn
because he is the best candidate
to continue the 40-year tradition
of having North-end representa
tion on the Morrow County
Court. I hope you will too.
