Smith Callaway Chapel was in
charge o f arrangements.
Olla M. Ruggles
Ola M . Ruggles, formerly o f
Heppner, died at a nursing home
in The Dalles Wednesday. March
11. She was 97.
Mrs. Ruggles was bom May
16, 1894 in M oro to Charles G.
and Lenora Huls. She was rais­
ed in the Sherman County area.
Later, she and her husband.
Walter A . Ruggles, who preced­
ed her in death, farmed wheat in
the Wasco and Klondike areas.
Later the couple moved to
M oro and operated a confec­
tionery store for about 15 years.
They then returned to farming in
the Heppner area. Her husband
died while they were living in
Heppner and Mrs. Ruggles re­
mained there until she moved to
The Dalles in 1985.
She was a member and a past
Noble Grand o f the Rebekah
Lodge in Heppner and was a
member and past Worthy Matron
o f Bethlehem Chapter o f the
Order o f Eastern Star in Moro.
She was a member o f the Eastern
Star for over 60 years.
Her hobbies included oil pain­
ting, China painting and other ar­
tistic endeavors.
Survivors include a daughter:
Laura Terwilligar, Prineville;
seven grandchildren and many
great-grandchildren and great-
great grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her husband
and tw o sons, Charles and
Phillip.
Graveside services were held
Friday, March 13 at the M oro
Frances M. Carlson
A memorial service was held
for Frances M. Carlson Monday,
March 16 at the lone United
Church o f Christ.
Mrs. Carlson, 77, o f lone, died
Tuesday, March 10, 1992 as the
result o f a motor vehicle accident
near lone.
She was bom April 18, 1914,
at Silverton to Ira and Myrtle
Stewart. She grew up at Silver-
ton and graduated from Silverton
H igh School then attended
Willamette University at Salem
where she earned a teaching
degree. She had been named May
Queen at the University while she
was attending school there.
She came to lone as a business
teacher and counselor at the lone
High School and taught at lone
for several years.
On N ov. 1, 1941, she married
Charles “ Swede” Carlson at
Silverton. They lived at lone
before moving to a ranch on
Valby Road.
She was an active member o f
the lone Topic Club and W illows
Grange.
Survivors include her husband
at the home; and a niece and
nephew, both o f Silverton.
Memorial contributions may be

Saturday, March 7 was well at­
tended. Prizes given were Cecil
Jones, men's high; Kenneth
Smouse, second high; Dorothy
Wilson, women’ s high; Neoma
Bailey, second high; L eo Crab­
tree and John Tellechea, travel­
ing. The April 4 card party will
start with a hot turkey sandwich,
salad and dessert for $3.50.
Cards w ill follow for $2. This is
open to the public.

bom March 6. The young man
weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz and has been
named K .C . Ray. He joins a
sister, Cassie, at home. Grand­

neth and Peggy McReynolds o f
Boise. Connie Eng and mother
Gaye Papineau returned home
Sunday after visiting their new lit­
tle nephew and grandson.

at the home o f her parents Helen
and Fred Martin. The dinner was
in honor o f Fred’ s birthday.
Other guests attending were
Ralph Martin and family from
Lake Oswego, who also spent the
weekend; and Melvin Martin o f
Moses Lake, W A . During the
day their grandson Brian Brazell,
who is a crew chief in the N a­
tional Arm y Guard stationed in
Portland flew over the house in
a army helicopter on a training
flight mission. The crew flew all
over the area. When Brian return­
ed home he phoned his grand­
mother and told them that was
him. The family was delighted.

making her home with her
daughter Elois W ilson in Citrus
Heights, C A .
Lotus computer class scheduled
A six-week B M C C computer
class, Lotus 1-2-3, has been
planned at Heppner High School
beginning April 6.
The class, taught by Bev Lan-
man, w ill be held Mondays from
7 to 9 p.m.

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to ORS 311.615 of the service of
Personal Property Tax warrants upon the following listed tax payers.
Payment of the following listed delinquent taxes with interest and
cost of service must be made by April 8, 1992 or said warrants shall
be filed with the County Clerk of Morrow county, Oregon, for entry
in the County Clerk Lien Record, and shall became a lien upon the
title to any interest in real property owned by the person against
whom the warrant is issued, and the taxes on personal property
embraced in the warrant with interest, penalties and costs
applicable thereto, shall continue as a lien on all the personal
property of the person assessed as otherwise provided by law. The
