The North Lex Livestock 4-H club
will hold its first meeting of the year
on Sunday, November 24 at 2 p.m.
at the Lexington School district of­
fice. The club is open to young peo­
ple from fourth through 12th grade
interested in raising a market hog,

Heppner Elementary Parents club
annual fundraiser carnival will be
held Saturday, November 23 at the
Morrow County Fairgrounds in
Heppner, 6-8 p.m.
This year’s Ponies Pride Carnival
will feature face painting, goldfish
toss, a fish pond, basketball shoot,
balloon darts, cork guns and many
more along with concessions from
the kitchen.
Tickets may be purchased for 25C.
Each game requires one ticket. Pro­
ceeds from the carnival benefit
kindergarten through eighth grade at
Heppner Elementary school.
This is the parents club only fund
raiser for the year.

be knitting a Christmas stocking.

on Dowdy until an ambulance arriv­
ed. Heppner EMT Carl Lauritsen
continued CPR and oxygen in the
ambulance while Dowdy was being
transported to Pioneer Memorial
Hospital. Continued efforts to revive
Dowdy by Dr. Kirby Flanagan at
PMH failed and Dowdy died about
3:30 p.m., said Martin.

A West Linn man. hunting the
Madison Butte area near Heppner,
died Nov. 16 of a heart attack accor­
ding to Oregon State Police Officer
Carl Martin.
According to Martin, Dowdy was
hunting with a friend, Rick Lutz of
Hubbard Dowdy, had killed an elk
earlier in the day and Lutz was help­
ing him pack it out when Dowdy col­
lapsed in camp around noon.

The adult Bible class of Valby
Lutheran Church will meet Sunday,
November 24 at 8:15 a.m. to con­
tinue its study of the Book of Revela­
tion. Worship will be at 9 a.m.
Pastor Hoobing will preach on the
theme of “ What Kind of King is

The production originally scheduled
November 22 and 23 was changed
at the last minute due to changes in
the cast.
