Samuel R. Byrne
The Funeral for Samuel Robert
Byrne will be Saturday, June 22, 11
a.m. at the American Legion Hall in
Fort Bridger Cemetery.
Mr. Byrne, 70, of lone, died Fri
day, June 14, 1991 at Good
Shepherd Community Hospital in
Hermiston.
Anthony T. Boggs
Graveside funeral services for An
thony Thomas Boggs were held at
Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery in
Irrigon on Saturday, June 15.
Boggs, 17, of Irrigon, died Tues
day, June 11, 1991 at Good
Shepherd Community Hospital in
Hermiston following an accident
near Board man.
He was bom March 2, 1974, at
San Francisco, Calif., to Dennis and
Velma Boggs.
He had been a resident of Irrigon
for the past six years and was a
junior at Riverside High School in
Boardman. He enjoyed golfing,
fishing and hunting. He loved
animals and was an artist.
Survivors include his parents,
Dennis and Velma Boggs, and
brothers, D.J. and Terry at the
home, and grandmother Mima
Boggs of Prosser, Wash.
Bums Mortuary, Hermiston was
in charge of arrangements.
Ronald L Zimmerman
Ronald Lee Zimmerman, 39, of
Boardman, died Friday, June 14,
1991 at Boardman.
Graveside funeral services were
held at Riverview Cemetery on
Wednesday, June 19.
He was bom July 10, 1951, at
Gordon, Neb. and had been a resi
dent of Boardman for the past year.
He served 20 years in the U.S. Ar
my and was a veteran of the Viet
nam War. While in the service he
had been stationed all over the
world.
Survivors include his mother
Violet Zimmerman of Boardman;
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Hoffman of Campbellsport, Wis.;
brothers David of Pendleton, Ran
dy of Boardman and Robert of
Prineville.

tingales held a 4-H meeting at Ann
Bedortha’s house. Dr. Temple came
and showed members how to ban
dage a horse’s leg. Each member got
to listen to the horse’s heartbeat.
The Nifty Needlers

A meeting was held on June 12 at
Brooke Boyer’s house. Those who
were present were: Kristi Worden,
Brooke Boyer, Julie Watkins and
Mindy Qualls. Leaders Pam Worden
and Kelly Boyer were present too.
Members made tote bags. The Nif
ty Needlers will meet on July 2 to
go to the Pendleton Woolen Mills.
Fruit Cakes

The fourth meeting of the 4-H
Fruit Cakes was Thursday, June 13
at 3 p.m. Members baked ‘ ‘potatoes
with Pizzazz” topped with sour
cream, bacon bits, beans and grated
cheese. The next meeting will be
Wednesday, June 26 at the home of
Audra Bunch. Members will make
fruit crisp with streusel toppings and
discuss 4-H projects for the fair.

and focused on our very own Dr.
Jeanne Berretta and Dr. Ed Berret-
ta. Heppner is one of the few rural
communities fortunate enough to
have not one but two caring,
dedicated, “ on-the-run” doctors to
tend to our health care needs. For
this reason, Heppner Chamber and
Soroptimist International of Heppner
are co-sponsoring Doctor’s Ap
preciation Day this Saturday June
22, 1991. We encourage everyone
to attend to “ say thanks for being
here when we need you.” Tickets
for the Italian dinner at the Elks
Saturday are available at the
Chamber Office/Heppner T. V. at $8
per person. Dinner begins at 7 p.m.
