The Heppner Elementary School
Media Center is sponsoring a book
fair Nov. 26 through Nov. 30.
The fair will be set up on the stage
area of the grade school building and
will be available to the public at the
following times: 8:10 to 9 a.m.
11:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. and 2:30
to 2:55 p.m. each day.
There will be a wide variety of
books available as well as posters
and videos.
All money raised is used to make
the media center a more attractive
place or to provide better selection
for students. In previous years the
center has been able to buy books,
a comfortable reading chair and ver­
tical blinds using the proceeds.
“ Remember,” said a spokesper­
son, “ this is a wonderful op­
portunity to stock up on reading
materials for kids as well as great
stocking stuffers for the coming holi­
day season.”

School are planning a field trip to an
exhibit on whales to be held at the
Tri-Cities on January 30.
Students are planning popcorn
sales and a pop can drive to help
fund the trip.

A Meeting of the Budget Commit­
tee for The lone Rural Fire Protec­
tion District 06-604 will be held in
the fire hall at 7:30 p.m. on
December 3, 1990. The purpose of
the meeting is to discuss a proposed
supplem ental budget for the
1990-1991 fiscal year. This is a
public meeting and any person may
discuss the proposed supplemental
budget with the committee. The
budget document may be inspected
or copies obtained by any person at

solid waste disposal franchise until
700 p.m., PST, on December 10,
1990 and then publicly opened and
read aloud. This franchise will con­
sist of an exclusive right to collect
and dispose of solid waste from
residences

establishments within the boundaries
of the City of Heppner for a period
of ten years.
No bid may be withdrawn after the
time set for bid opening, or after the
award of the contract, unless award
is delayed for period exceeding 60

Notice is hereby given that on and
after January 13, 1991 it shall be
unlawful for livestock to be permit­
ted to run at large within the boun­
daries of the livestock district created
at the General Election on November
6, 1990 by a majority of the voters
voting within the proposed district
area.
The name by which the district is
to be known is “ Irrigon Livestock
D istrict’1'':! »'/L ivestock"' means'
animals o f the bovine species,
horses, mules, asses, sheep, goats
and swine. The boundaries of the
district are as follows: Beginning at
the South meander line of the Col­
umbia River and the West Section
line of Section 15, Township 5
North, Range 26, E.W.M.; thence
South along the West Section line of
Sections 15, 22, 27 and 34,
