Billings couple to manage motel
Hardman takes parade award
UnUmited banquet Sept. 7
The third annual Ducks Unlimited
banquet and auction has been
scheduled for Friday, Sept. 7, at the
Morrow County Fairgrounds annex.
Social hour will begin at 6 p.m.
and dinner at 7 p.m., with the auc­
tion to follow dinner.
Organizer Steve Rhea says there
are already many raffle items and
special events have been planned in
addition to last year’s activities.
Women’s only raffles and games
have been added to this year's agen­
da. Rhea says that kids are welcome
to attend and raffles for younger kids
“ greenwings,” have been planned.
This year the dinner will be buf­
fet style with a menu of prime rib,
baked potatoes, baked beans, salad.

The Hardman Community Center
took first place and the sweepstakes
ribbon for their entry in the com­
munity float division in the Morrow
County parade Saturday, Aug. 18.
The Mike Olson family was se­
cond in that division; Morrow Coun­
ty Search and Rescue was third; and
the American Legion Heppner Post
was fourth.
Heppner Day Care was first in the
commercial floats division; second
went to First Interstate Bank; third-
Guy Van Arsdale and fourth-
Morrow County Grain Growers.
My Lambs Favorite Outfit took
first prize in the children’s groups;
second-Whitney Hickey and Kyle
Huddleston; third-Julie Watkins.
First in the non-school bands
division-A ll Saints Episcopal
Church; and South Morrow Com­
munity Band was second.
The . class of 2000 earned first
place in the non-band marching
groups; second-American Legion

carriers.

Bank of Eastern Oregon and First In­
terstate Bank. Rhea says that around
30 different art prints and guns will
be included on the auction block.
Dinner tickets will be available at
the door except for Ducks Unlimited
members who will receive their in­
vitations in the mail to return. Other­
wise there will be no early bird sales.
