Jazz group to form
Any vocal or instrumental Jazz
musician who would like to be in
volved in singing or playing in a jazz
group or combo with other adult
residents of Morrow County should
contact Kathy Hoskins, 676-5143,
Heppner, or 481-3532, Boardman.
A group is being formed to meet
twice a month to play/sing a variety
of jazz music including but not
limited to be-bop (swing), blues and
ballads. “ If this gets going,’’ said
organizer Kathy Hoskins, we will
have groups in both the north and
south end of the county and possibly
combine for performances.”
Hoskins says the group is especial
ly looking for a jazz pianist and a
bass guitarist.

* What is this wet stuff falling
from the sky? Isn’t it wonderful to
see the drops of dew on everything
and the dust settle. Those attending
the rodeo on Friday night were
treated to a beautiful rainbow disap
pearing behind the cross on the hill.
* As of today, the county for Cy
cle Oregon is 1,845. Each day we
receive new updates in the mail and
deadlines are drawing closer. Ukiah
was hosting 170 cyclists on Monday.
The park was filled to capacity with
multi-colored tents and spandex dry
ing on the fence. All I could think
of was “ ten times that many in less
than three weeks.” Things like a
smiley faced balloon, a sign above
my typewriter that reads “ first you
breath” and terrific co-ordinators
keep me plunging ahead.
