Plans are underway for the 1990
Morrow County Fair & Rodeo
Parade to be held on August 18 at
10 a.m. This year’s theme is "Blue
Jeans and C ountry S cen es.”
Registration for parade entries
started last week and we’ve heard
from a lot of our favorite parade par
ticipants. If you decide at the last
minute to join in the fun, drop by the
table in front of Green Feed between
9 and 9:30 a.m.. on August 18 and
a number will be assigned to you
there.
Ribbons and prize money will be
awarded in several categories in
cluding cars, floats, riding groups,
fair courts, bands and several others.
Some divisions will be judged before
the parade starts, so if you would
like a chance at an award, be sure
to get there before 9:30 a.m.
If you are planning on riding a
horse in the parade, a special
unloading area has been designated.
Riverside Street will be open and is
a great place to unload and ready
your horse for the parade, and there
will be parking for rigs and trailers
until the parade is over.
Entry forms are available at the
Van Marter & Kahl Insurance office
located at 187 N. Main Street in
Heppner. If you have any questions
or need any special arrangements
please contact Bob Kahl at 676-9113

Rodeo Court took first place in the
Queen and Court Division at the
Umatilla County Fair Parade Aug.
4. Queen Judy Jepsen and her court
brought home a beautiful plaque for
their efforts. The plaque will be on
display at the court’s fair booth dur
ing this week’s Morrow County Fair
and Rodeo.
The court was busy last week pro-
moting the fair and rodeo. Last
Thursday, they appeared on a radio
talk show on station KOHU in Her-
miston. In addition they were inter
viewed by station KUMA of
Pendleton at the Umatilla County
Fair on Saturday. They capped their
busy week by returning home to
Heppner to hand out awards at the
