1990 Morrow County Fair. August
15 through 19.
Randy Ross and his carnival from
Portland will feature games, rides
and concessions for kids of all ages

Class hours 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
-Classes are 1 hour sessions-
Pencil-Shading-Shapes-Drawings and
Perspective Drawing for the older
children.
Color-mixing and Watercolor Painting,
also Clay Sculpture.
King Kong was part of 1989 parade
It’s time to register for the 1990
Morrow County Fair and Rodeo
Parade. The parade this year is to be
held August 18 beginning at 10 a.m.
Put on your favorite "Blue Jeans and
Country Scenes" costume and come
join the fun. The sign-in table will
be set up on the porch in front of the
Green Feed Store and parade entry
numbers will be issued starting at 9
a.m.
Fourteen divisions will be judged
at this year’s parade. Ribbons and
prize money will be distributed to the
winners. There is over $450 in prize
money available, with the largest
single cash award being $50 in the
sweepestakes division. A list of the
entries receiving prizes will be
posted at the Fair Board office at the
Morrow County Fairgrounds, and
checks and ribbons may be picked
up and there also.
For all those parade participants
under the age of 12, there will be
free ice cream at the end of the
parade.
Early registration forms are
available at Van Marter and Kahl In­
surance located at 187 N. Main
Street. If you already know what
your parade entry will be, please fill
out a registration form in advance.
If you don’t decide to be in the
parade until the last minute, registra­
tion forms will be at the sign-in table
at Green Feed on the day of the
parade. If you have any questions,
or need any special arrangements

Flower arranging contest Thursday
A flower arranging contest at
10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16
will be held in the demonstration
area of the main exhibit hall. Direc­
tions for this contest were inadver­
tantly omitted from the fair premium
book.
Anyone eligible to enter. The con­
testants are to bring all components
needed, such as cut plant materials,
containers, holders, accessories, cut­
ting knife or scissors and so on. Fif-
teen minutes will be given for set­
ting up, 25 minutes for making the
arrangement and 10 minutes to clean
up and hear the judge's comments.
Completed arrangements are to re­
main on display until exhibits are
released on Sunday.
Premiums will be $4 for first, $3
for second and $2 for third.
The monitor will be Debbie Scott
of the Heppner Garden Club.
