Tom Simonton, Pendleton, paints businesses windows in
preparation for the 1990 Morrow County Fair and Rodeo.
Simonton says that he enjoys adding special touches to the
paintings, incorporating tidbits about the businesses into them.
He says he also likes the friendliness of the community. “ It’s
kind of neat. Everyone stops and says hello.”
Simonton has been painting windows for the past 46 years
since he was 19, and has been doing Heppner windoes since
the early ‘70’s.
He is a retired postal worker.

Consumber Guide to Medicare Sup
plement Insurance in Oregon” to
day. There is no charge for the
guide, says Carol Bennett, Morrow
County Extension agent.
The guide summarizes the benefits
and premiums of the 46 most
popular Medicare supplement in
surance plans available in Oregon.
It also describes the benefits of the
federal Medicare program and
defines words commonly found in
insurance contracts. Readers of the
guide can learn how to make a com
plaint against an insurance company
or agent. This year’s edition of the
guide also provides information
about the number of complaints the
insurance division received about the
com panies included in the
summaries.
Medicare supplement insurance
has historically filled all or part of
the “ gaps" between charges actually
covered by the federal Medicare pro
gram and remaining charges. The
“ Consumer Guide to Medicare Sup
plement Insurance in Oregon” is a
useful tool for consumers who are
trying to find the best policy to fill
those gaps.
