The potent Mu tang offense relied
on the bat. of the fir c four batters.
Krein Devin , Russell Britt and Slater
Mitchell combined for 10 of the
Mustangs' 13 hit. and nine RBI'.
and cored 11 runs. Krein , Devin
and M itchell had three hit each for
the Mu tangs. Ja. on Britt added two
hit and three RBI''> . The Mu<,tangs
batted a blistering .57 1 a!. a team .
The Mustangs were lead on the
mound by ric Connor who pitched
a solid 3 1/J innings. allowing ju t
four hits and picking up five
strike-outs.
Ru ell Britt came in to relieve
Connor and pitched 1 21, innings,
allowing O hits and picking up three
strike outs. The Mustangs are one
and one in pre-season play .

On March 31 , the Mustang dia-
mond men faced the Sherman Coun-
ty Hu kie . The Mu tang lost to the
Hu kie two week before and were
looking to avenge their lo .
The Mu tangs tarted out quickly
with a lead off ingle by Bob Krein
and then a triple by Doug Devin co
bring in Krein. Devin later scored on
an error to give the Mustang an ear-
ly 2 to O lead.
The next inning the Mustang took
advantage of three walks and four
hits. including a two-run ingle by
Devin to break the game wide open,
giving the Mustang an 8-0 lead after
two innings. The Mustangs scored
eight more runs to Sherman' four

March 26 for the third time thi year.
Seven member were pre. ent. At the
opening of the meeting member
bought paghetti noodles and tomato
pa ce . They they made paghetti ,
cookie and brownie . Brioget
McElli~tt did a pre ntation on how
to make French bread.
The next meeting was April 2.

European visit subject of Topic Club

room of the United Church on
March 28 with Katherine Lind trom
and Sue Proudfoot a hostesses. Pro-
gram for the day was a pictorial ac-
count of a trip to Alice Weatherford
Harper and her husband, Rich, made
to Europe in November. The special
occasion of the trip was co attend the
wedding of Patrick Meunier of Le
Neubourg France and hjs fiance,
Lisbeth Goddik, a Danish git'l he met
\ hen attending Oregon State
University on a master's program .
Patrick pent a ummer at the Harper
wheat ranch learning first-hand the
working of a ranch . Another special
occasion for Rich was a visit to hi
German Nanny, Ro ie Wagner, in
Munich . Rich wa born in Munich
when hi father wa tationed there.
