Mustangs traveled to Athena lo face
the Weston M il wen Tiger Scots
Die Mustangs raced out to an
11 point lead at the end of the first
quarter and extended their lead to Ml
by halftime
Heppner then coasted to a 24 point
win. 71 to 47.
The Mustangs were lead by
Russell Britt with 19 points Slater
Mitchell grabbed 11 rebounds and
Doug IVvin added 11 points for the
Mustangs The Mustangs are now
nine and two in CBC play for second
place

The Heppner freshmen ended
their season with <9 5 record Mon
day l^ist week the vintng Mustangs
lost to Condon s JV team. 61 5b and
this week the Mustangs beat Pilot
Rivk s freshmen team 57 31
The freshmen traveled to Condon
for a rematch with Condon's JV
team, who had beaten the Mustangs
:>nce already But it just wasn't to be
as Heppner cintldn't get their game
going early, and Condon did. taking
a 35-25 halftime lead
As the second half started the
Mustang* came charging back to pull
within two points at 43 41. but Con
don stayed in control and pulled
awav for the win Shawn Greenfield
of Condon led all scorers with 2b
points, as Scott Coe led Heppner
with 2()
Monday the freshmen team travel
ed to Pilot Rock for their last game
of the year, and came away with a
win to Nvost their season record to
9 5. the best record this team has had
since junior high In the first quarter
both teams came out slow as the
Kivckets tried to press early But
Heppner finally got their game go
ing and put it away early, with a 23-9
halftime lead
Tony Burt led all scorers with 15
points and Shane Munkers had 14
None of Pilot Rock's players scored
in double figures
