The Riverside junior varsity girls
beat the Wahtonka Eagles 23-13
Saturday night, Feb 3, in The
Dalles
The Pirates had a slow start, but
stayed strong enough to overcome
the Eagles
Riverside went into the half with
a six point lead. 13-7. After the hall
the Pirates came out to hold the
Eagles to a scoreless third quarter
The Pirates scored ten points in the
second hall while the Eagles could
only get three baskets to finish the
game, 23-13

Mustangs lose to Riverside

On Friday, February 2. the Hepp
ner Mustangs traveled to Boardman
to face the Riverside Pirates The
Mustangs scored first, but then
found themselves down by nine
points at the end of the first quarter
The second quarter wasn't any
better as (Ik- Mustangs were down by
17 at halftime The Mustangs came
out fired up in the third quarter and
cut the Pirate lead to 11 points, but
that's as close as the Mustangs got
The final score was Riverside, 70.
Heppner, 42 The Mustangs were
lead by Slater Mitchell with I 3
points and 16 rebounds and Russell
Britt also with 13 points Casey
Pedro had five steals for the
Mustangs The Mustangs now drop
to 7 and 2 in CBC play
