Lady C ardinals as the Cards finish
ed a marathon week that saw them
in five games in nine days The
Cards record now sits at 9 -0 league
action and 14 I overall
Friday night, the C ardinals travel
ed to Echo where they cruised past
the out manned C ougars. 3 3 17
Echo, the league's last place team,
has had trouble fielding a g irl's team
in recent years and they arc s till try
mg to re b u ild The C ardinals used
the game as an opportunity tor
everyone to play and contribute
Am y Wagenblast led a balancing
scoring e ffo rt w ith nine points
A lthough nobody scored in double
figures, all but tw o C ardinals nude
it into the score book
The outcom e was never in doubt
as the latdy Card» jum ped to a 17 4
lead in the first quarter and continued
on to a 32-8 lead at the halt Couch

hounding e ffo rt The Cards chalked
up a total o f Id assists and. in the
w ords o f th e ir coach, “ loads o f
steals " lone shot 46 percent from
the flo o r and 39 percent fro m the
line Echo, on the other hand, had
trouble getting shots in the a ir and
when they did they co u ld n 't seem to
get them to fall
Coach Heideman was pleased with
the game, calling it a "g o o d team cf
fo rt ” W h ile the game was not too
challenging fo r the Cards. Heideman
was glad to see everyone play and
contribute, and to see the younger
g irls play so w ell
Saturday, the Condon Blue Devils
trekked to lone, fresh fro m a v ictory
over D u fu r the previous night, only
to be ambushed by the I ady Cards.
