The lone JV girls squad was chas

Freshmen hut cam e away with a
21 -1 ^ win in a game held in lone on

in the first quarter to make the game
a low scoring, defensive contest
The Cardinals led the entire game,
mostly due to the Pirates inability to
break their press But while the
Cards were able to create the tur­
novers. they found that Riverside
was able to defense their fast break

Cardinals by clogging the inside
This prompted coach Tom Bedortha
to send his team into a "spread of­
fense " The rules require the team
that is behind to respond to a spread
offense by coming out of their /one
and playing man to-man Man to­
man was just what the Cards wanted
because it allowed them to drive the
key and get the inside shots

quarter and edged to a 10-5 halftime

Danielle Stefani pulling down 12 and
Kristine Bedortha adding seven
Crystal Minster led the Cards in

the Pirates prevailed in their last
